Tombs is currently both a passenger transport (Tombs Motorway) and commercial transport (Tombs Trucking) business.
@shingaiRndoro True. Tombs started off as a bus company in the 1950s. It has a shared past with other transporters who have since folded, Tenda, Musasiwa etc. Tombs Trucking was a branch off to save the co.
Heymans is a SA co which has branched off into Zim to protect its drivers frm xenophobia
Epic!!! We can write an article on this picture. Both companies have been existence for decades. Heymans Kole (est around 1950) is a South African trucking company with a fleet of over 100 vehicles operating across SADC.
@Tombs Trucks & Motorways (established in 1963) is a Zimbabwean truck and bus company based in Kwekwe, Midlands. In the 1990s, the company was a well known bus company plying routes in the midlands area. The company moved into trucking business as Tombs Trucking. Adapt or Die...

Think Local team has been on the streets of Harare, talking to roadside traders. During the interviews, three things caught our attention:
1. Whilst traders under the trees are usually shunned and considered of no fixed abode, some of the businesses we interviewed actually own &
operate factories elsewhere. Street vending is an opportunity for them to connect directly with the market.
2. All our interviewees had an appreciation of their cost structures & cost build ups. They understand what goes in and comes out in dollar terms.
