5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.

‘According to philosopher Robert Solomon, “Emotions are not irrational; people are irrational.”’
— Mahaney, Carolyn, Nicole Mahaney Whitacre, and Joni Eareckson Tada. True Feelings: God’s Gracious and Glorious Purpose for Our Emotions.
“We may feel like our emotions are making us crazy, but the real culprits are the beliefs and values from which the emotions spring. According to philosopher Robert Solomon, “Emotions are not irrational; people are irrational.”
“Feelings don’t lie, but they may tell us that we believe a lie. Feelings don’t confer value, but they tell us that we assess an object as having value. As such, feelings are reliable. They accurately tell us about our beliefs and values”
Found a cure for my headache. In a generation that has the liberty to pop a pill for every problem, or to get a ChatGPT answer to every question, sometimes I believe our ancestors were more liberated than us, with their lack of enslavement to technology and medical ‘advancements’
Is it just me or every time you read 2 Tim 1:12 you just can’t help but sing it in your head according to the hymn “I know whom I have believed”… ?

Is there any valuable thing in this world that has a worth so immediately recognisable that it does not require even the slightest bit of prior research, or time and effort invested in learning, testing, discovering and understanding its particular value?
#GenuinelyWondering
I keep hearing that people don't want to invest their time and effort into studying Christianity because they are not sure if it would be worth it. But how would you know whether or not something is worth it until you study it?
#CircularReasoning#Logic#CommonSenseNotCommon
As Christians, we don't have to do any research to know what kind of jobs have the most security. In a fallen world under God's judgment, disease and death are inevitable. This really isn't surprising

“I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.” ⎯ @CSLewis
Speechless, and yet I have so much to say; with this turn of events, and how God made life this way.
Is it coincidence? Is it a pattern?
One which no one can fathom?
Why does it happen? Or is it common?
So many questions left open-ended.
At least I know, it's as God has intended.
"To take no pleasure in assertions is not the mark of a Christian heart; indeed, one must delight in assertions to be a Christian at all." - Martin Luther, Bondage of the Will
To be Christian is to have conviction about your assertions.
#ConvictionMatters#NoNeutrality
"by ‘assertion’ I mean staunchly holding your ground, stating your position, confessing it, defending it and persevering in it unvanquished. I do not think that the term has any other meaning, either in classical authors or in present-day usage."-Martin Luther,Bondage of the Will
Frodo: I wish it need not have happened in my time.
Gandalf: So do I and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
