Seriously, it almost always does. You can just tell. And it all came together nicely for #Nike and their agency partners at the #ChicagoMarathon this past Sunday.
10/10 for all the billboard copy and placement along the route / commute. And the follow-up video commercial released on Nike socials the next morning on Monday was really the 🍒 on top. With 70s track “Love Hurts” by Nazareth. Uff. Right on the money with that one.
Yes, long road ahead on so many fronts for the brand / business to reclaim its past glories but looks like comeback era is upon us. It was also Elliot Hill’s first day back at Nike on Monday :)
What do you all (esp. runners on the timeline) think of these creatives? You like? From what was a polarising “Winning isn’t for everyone” during the Olympics to a more palatable, relatable “Winning isn’t comfortable” in the context of marathons. Interesting.
