@TylerWeir1989@RepSwalwell Well, bald eagles aren't that great of an example either, that's a clear fetishization of an animal (or, to the degree its because they're going extinct it is because we want to protect the species, not because they're `human' or breaking an eagle egg is `murder').
@Rockoon22@Timcast Now, its bad to kill a baby because of the reasons I've put forward (they likely will survive and then you have damaged a person in the future, also it degrades regular people's ability not to be violent towards others) but if you have a bright line (like birth).
@Rockoon22@Timcast And because our stupid human brains can't make the seperation between `baby' and `person' very easily because they're so cute. But they aren't really that distinguishable from chimpanzees until they start speaking (around 2 or 3 years of age).
@Rockoon22@Timcast It still isn't about a person dying, its about a particular fetishization of personhood. To me, a person is someone who speaks --- we extend personhood on a proforma, parole type basis to babies because almost all of them will be a person eventually.
@Rockoon22@Timcast This is absolutely about women, that's why people talk about exceptions for rape and incest (which only makes sense if you are moralizing the sexuality itself). If *you* disagree with such exceptions then good for you for being consistent there, but then the problem is...
@TylerWeir1989@RepSwalwell Yes, still racist because you want to eliminate P.O.C. people's ability to make choices about their own lives. That's not the kick ass argument you think it is.
@TorquayNetwork@OwenJones84 Abortion is a right that is necessary to stop women from being enslaved. If RvW was misdecided that's because it comes out of the 13th amendment: forcing a woman to have a baby makes her a slave.
@MonicaQuadri@NicolaSturgeon Abortion is a human right, its the right not to be a slave (you can't make someone labor for someone else if they don't want to).
@bulletsishere @OccasionalKyle @RealNintenSlut@JacobCaputo45@ElijaWinter@ChrisRGun Ah, then your incoherence is much deeper than normie incoherence. (I would suspect from your chosen nom de plume that you worship some kind of violence and/or stupid idea of masculine domination of women and `rape' doesn't count as a `genuine' form of domination in your book).
@bulletsishere @OccasionalKyle @RealNintenSlut@JacobCaputo45@ElijaWinter@ChrisRGun ...then you understand why abortion is a perfectly reasonable right. (Not to mention that forcing a woman to labor for a child is a form of enslavement --- this doesn't just undermine the 14th amendment, but rather the 13th).
@Unknown05835311 @andrearene@GameOverGreggy Let's see, that's 8 months along --- yeah that typically only happens when the mother is going to die if there isn't an abortion. I would also recommend allowing one half of a pair of siamese twins dying if it would let the other survive in conditions where both will die.
If RvW was decided incorrectly thats because they used the wrong amendment --- its actually the 13th amendment which protects the right to abortion --- pregnancy is labor and forcing someone to bear a child is slavery.
@DickFear1@BoomerCelt@RussianExp@Timcast Abortion is a human right --- women *cannot* be free without abortion. Pregnancy is labor and the right to control your own conditions of labor (and to choose to *withdraw that labor*) is a basic human right. Otherwise you are a slave.
@BoomerCelt@RussianExp@Timcast Also, these exceptions never work out, doctors almost always choose to let women die rather than face the wrath of the state. That's just how this works.
