Anyone with their wits about them knows telling someone on public transport to turn down the music on their phone is a dangerous proposition. If they’re willing to break social norms that egregiously, there’s a good chance they’ll respond aggressively or violently.

What’s interesting in this conversation is that their progressive sensibilities have them reaching for justifications for obviously antisocial behaviour.

They are essentially saying, “Oh, you don’t like your public transport seasoned?”
