We didn't just have a grandma—we had a hero who gave us everything.
This is our grandma, Josephine. When we were just kids, I was just 5, we lost our parents in a car accident. Grandma Josie stepped in, she of course didn't hesitate, even though her grief was as overwhelming as ours. She worked long days, sacrificed countless nights, and made sure we always had food on the table, clothes on our backs, and we were surrounded with love.
She wasn't just our grandmother, she became our mother, our teacher, our biggest supporter, and our safe place. Every lesson we learned about hard work, kindness, faith, and family came from her. She shared unconditional love.
Today she turns 90 years old, and the three little boys she raised have grown into men who will never forget what she did for us. Everything we are today is because she never gave up on us.

#OTD in 1963, Medgar Evers was shot and killed in his driveway in Jackson, Mississippi, returning home from an NAACP meeting carrying t-shirts that read "Jim Crow Must Go."
His wife and children found him at the door. I know what it means to lose your father to the violence he was fighting against. I know that loss never leaves you. Medgar's legacy endures because he refused to stop, and because his family carried his work forward. We honor him by doing the same.

I want to give you guys some facts about General Chappie James. He wasn’t a “DEI” hire—he was a complete badass that had to overcome MORE than any white pilot. Did 178 combat missions—that’s like 7 bomber tours on a B-17 in WWII.
His medal count? Impeccable. 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 14 Air Medals, Two Legions of Merit, and a Defense Distinguished Service Medal. One of the original Tuskegee Airmen, the first four-star African American General.
Hegseth couldn’t sniff the level of soldiering and warrior that was in Chappie’s DNA. God bless him. And Hegseth took down his picture from a hallway like a racist little child, which is what he is.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support that @MichelleObama has poured into me over the years. Her story — from her South Side roots to the White House and beyond — is a central part of the Obama Presidential Center.
On this day in 1963, civil rights leader and organizer #MedgarEvers was assassinated by a white supremacist in the driveway of his home. We remember his legacy and honor his family, including his wife, #MyrlieEversWilliams, who was a dear friend of our founder, #CorettaScottKing.

Tell your children about Ruby Bridges, the first Black child to integrate an all-white public elementary school in Louisiana. She turned 71 last year-she's only 71.
With profound sorrow & deep respect, we honor the life and legacy of Lawrence N. Brooks, who passed away at the remarkable age of 112. As the oldest living ‘American World War II Veteran’ at the time of his passing, represents one of the final living links to this generation.
Awww the legendary Ms. Patti LaBelle 82, and Ms. Gladys Knight 82, who recently celebrated their birthdays were born 4 days apart. 🥳 Happy Birthday beautiful talented Queens
The NBA family honors the life and legacy of Dr. Clarence B. Jones, who passed away last month. A trusted advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his words helped move a nation forward. He didn’t just witness history, he helped write it. His legacy continues to guide and inspire us, on the court and far beyond it.
