@williemeikle Just bought 4 of your books at Amazon: Rhythm and booze, Farside, Hellfire and Green Door. Just for starters. You got yourself a new fan.
@elonmusk selling verification is just as wrong. I'm just a nobody on your twitter, dear @elonmusk, but my mama didn't raise no fool. I regard this blue check thing as being a racket: first you delete legacy blue check, then everyone can/must buy $$$ blue check - or else! not so pretty ...
@PenseeCorner Experience is one thing, imagination another. Experience is o.k. to write a biography, but to write great literature, imagination in my opinion is more important.
ALONE! Sometimes a writer needs only one word to tell a whole story, at least if they are a graffiti writer.

@AutumnK2022 I can’t afford to give away any of my print copies. Postage within the UK wouldn’t be a fortune, but it cost £11.10 to send two paperbacks to the US recently. That’s more than I can just give away, on the assumption I’ll get a review out of it.
@AutumnK2022 Bookstores R the worst. They accept a copy to assess, then don't stock the book. When U ask for it back they they call U rude with and claim that UR unprofessional. What happened to good faith? Few indie authors R rich, I think it's rude not give a book back that you wont stock.
@AutumnK2022@CivHarvey As an indie author. anyone can ask me for a review copy (e-book only). If they want a paper copy, they have to pay for it. If the book was published on paper only, I may compromise, but only if the reviewer is from an influental platform. Fair and square
Thoreau valued freedom and was a self-published author.
You and I can be self-published authors, too. It takes initiative and hard work but the reward is freedom and total control over your own work.
As for me, I won't settle for less.

Hermann Hesse on "Walden" (1854) by Henry David Thoreau:
"American literature, as bold and magnificent as it is, cannot boast of any more beautiful or more profound work."
Thoreau self-published this immortal classic. You can be a self-published author, too, and stay free.
