Reports indicate that Giorgia Meloni is preparing to sideline Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo, Italy’s largest defence group.

The reason? Multiple sources suggest this is not about performance - under Cingolani, Leonardo’s stock has registered a +700% increase - but rather about the “Michelangelo Dome”.

Leonardo’s new AI-based air defence system, reportedly set to be tested in Ukraine in 2026, is now seen as “too competitive” for Washington.

According to several reports, Cingolani’s perceived “too European” stance - focused on strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy - may have played against him.

If confirmed, this would be a political decision against Europe’s industrial and strategic interests.

European states cannot claim sovereignty, and then punish those who actually try to build it.

This graph will shock you. I ran some calculations based on Ukraine aid tracker to determine the average brunt the taxpayer in each country bearing.

The Nordic States and Baltic States' taxpayers are bearing the brunt the most while Spain and Italy have not even made it to the top-20 list. Denmark is the absolute winner here, Norway too.

The American taxpayer made a sizeable contribution, has to be acknowledged, and still

Again, these calculations are estimates, you can refine them further but they're meant to show you that the grudges some ppl have in Central Europe, for example, are valid because part of Europe still lives as if Russia doesn't exist.

How do we arm Europe quickly and build up a massive European defence Industry so we can be safe from Russia?

The answer is: We cant. Not quickly.

Sputhern Europe is still sleeping but Northern and Baltic Europe is wide awake and armring like hell. Several countries are now spending significantly more of GDP on defence than the USA. Finland is already strong and Poland is very close to being ready. The rest are on their way.

But we need more time. Five-ten years from now, we will not need to fear Russia. They will be outmatched. But right now, Russia is a real danger.

So what do we do?

There are only two options:

1) Try to keep the USA as an ally for as long as possible until we are ready. That means keep stroking Trump’s ego and humiliate ourselves Marc Rutte style. Accept extortion, insults, threats and concessions while calling Trump “Daddy” and giving him made up peace prizes.

The problem is: Even that is not going to work. Regardless of what we do, Trump and his gang will want new humiliations every week. Giving in to a ridiculously unfair trade deal did not make the USA friendlier to Europe. Doubling defence spending has not made them less hostile to Europe either. Nothing will. They hate Europe, support Russia and cant be won over. They will not be there for us, and Russia knows it.

That leaves only one option:

2) Support Ukraine like our lives depend on it because they do.

As long as Ukraine stand between Europe and Russia, we are safe. Russia can not even take Donbas from Ukraine and would be in way over their heads if they also had to fight the Nordic countries, Poland, Germany, France, Britain and Canada in Eastern Europe.

We must demand that EVERYBODY in Europe contribute. No more free-riding from Italy, Spain and France. Not a eurocent in subsidies from the EU to traitors like Hungary and Slovakia before they also join.

It is real. This is not a drill. It is time to step up.

We can easily do it and I am confident, that we will.

Glory to Ukraine and glory to Europe.

1. Et krav om formueskat er ikke blot indførsel af en skat, det er at vælge en rød regering med Enhedslisten og SF, frem for en regering ind over midten med Venstre.

Hvis målet er at gå tilbage til reel socialisme hvilket Socialdemokratiet ellers droppede efter 1945 (hvor man indtil da ønskede at afskaffe de private virksomheder og landbruget demokratisk), så giver det naturligvis mening. Skræmt af både Hitler og Stalin indså S dog allerede dengang, at et stærkt velfærdssystem kræver en rig og fri privat sektor, hvilket grundlæggende er fundamentet for det samfund vi lever i nu.

2. Mette Frederiksen må beslutte sig for om hun vil vise at en kvindelig leder kan styre sit forbrug og føre en ansvarlig økonomisk politik, eller om hun vil huskes som "endnu en kvindelig leder" der ikke kunne styre statens udgifter og derfor endte i regering med Ø og SF. Skylder hun ikke de moderne kvinder mere end blot at bekræfte de gamle fordomme om kvinders manglende økonomiske mådehold?

Hvis hun ikke vil have det eftermæle og Jeres regering ikke vil huskes for evigt, som dem der sad med Ø, A og SF, så bør I gentænke om de rigeste iblandt os virkelig er så stort et problem, at I hellere vil handikappe dem, end at føre en politik der faktisk har råd til at løfte de svageste.

3. Resultatet i Norge er at de har mistet over 500 af deres største erhvervstalenter til Schweiz og de er blevet nødt til at indføre udrejseskat for at stoppe blødningen.

At bygge en Trumplignende mur omkring Danmark skaber ikke virksomheder, det skræmmer de største skatteydere væk så vi mister både selskabsskat og udbytteskat og de fremtidige arbejdspladser de ellers ville have skabt.

4. Danmark har ingen oliefond som stødpude så en formueskat vil ramme vores næste store erhvervssucceser langt hårdere end i Norge.

Førende norske økonomer har allerede påvist at tabet på udbytteskat overstiger provenuet fra formueskatten. Hvis blot 100 af de rigeste rykker ud (en femtedel af det vi har set i Norge) mister vi A-skatten fra titusindvis af højtbetalte medarbejdere og momsen fra deres massive investeringer.

I bytter et sikkert og langsigtet provenu ud med en usikker gevinst der efterlader et kæmpe hul i den nationale kapitalbase.

5. Danmark er slet ikke i en situation hvor vi behøver disse indgreb for at have råd til et ordentligt velfærdssystem. Projektet lugter mere af et ideologisk ønske om nationalisering end af et ønske om at skabe et moderne velfærd der passer på bunden.

Hvis I virkelig vil sikre folkeskolen og fremtidens vækst, så bør I holde jer til det ansvarlige samarbejde med @venstredk, @moderaterne_dk og @radikale, frem for at søge mod en fløj der fundamentalt arbejder for at afvikle det private erhvervsliv.

6. Jeres rådgivere har desværre sat jer skakmat, Mette Frederiksen har med dette forslag udelukket sig selv fra en statsministerpost over midten. Det kan alle der ønsker blokpolitikken tilbage (særligt Ø) gnide sig i hænderne over. Men I kan selvfølgelig stadig nå at droppe Roy Cohn/Trump-metoden med aldrig at erkende fejl, og i stedet indgå i en regering med @troelslundp som statsminister, der er jo ingen der vil dømme S eller Mette for at indrømme I har taget fejl (tværtimod ville det være et genialt spin-move).
