@sualbu@OverDrive1050@mike_p_johnson We're consumers not stakeholders. We have zero agency with regards to how the employer and employees conduct their business. I've owned 3 Hondas, doesn't give me the right to storm their office and lambast them for pulling out of F1.
@yyzsportsmedia He was great on T&S. There was balance and timing there that made the rage and shock jock schtick palatable. Not sure how it's going to go solo. He goes all over the place ripping players, teams, etc for weeks on end and then will just flip and go the other way.
@iceduzit91@Zer0PucksGiven Circling back not even a week later- 6 point deficit to Vegas. Every team above the Canucks have a 2-3 point cushion with 1 game in hand with the exception of EDM.
Moral of the story: Serious teams aren't scoreboard watching the race for WildCard 2 in November.
@iceduzit91@Zer0PucksGiven Vegas has played 3 fewer games and have more points. If anything the Canucks are closer to a 7 point deficit than they are to catching Vegas.
To avoid an embarrassing loss, you had to disavow everything you ever said you believed in, and pretend to support policies you spent your whole life fighting.
Must be tough knowing that.
And what I referenced actually affects the Canadian people.
@jeff_gluck I only watch the last 10 laps of the season. Under this current format, nothing else matters. You could win 5+ races and be a consistent top 10 finisher, yet your championship literally hinges on Joey Gase either getting into the wall or staying out of the wall with 3 to go.
@Trex_TIF@ConnorHuberty@jeff_gluck If you look at it from both perspectives, the format is beyond flawed.
Why should the driver 7th in points win the championship for leading 200 laps in the final race.
Why should the points leader have to rely on a caution in the last race of the season to become champ.
@jeff_gluck Ditch the gimmicky "stick and ball" concepts (stages, overtime, playoffs). It did nothing to attract new fans. It just ticked everyone off. What got me into racing was the constant action/movement of the race. Nowadays, it's just stop, reset, restart over and over again.
@Zer0PucksGiven@samanthacp_ A 3 year old obsessed with superheroes rolling up to daycare on a Tuesday morning in a Spiderman costume. That's basically throwing a hand grenade 🤣
@Zer0PucksGiven@samanthacp_ Sometimes, you just have to lie to your kid, haha.
Did I get questioned by my son's daycare about why he was going around on Tuesday saying his Spiderman costume was "charging"? Yep.
@TPatty89@RichardDCarter@MiltStegallTSN@CFL@PaperPlatesShow Sure, but how does Americaniszing the game draw fans in? The graveyard of off-season American "style" football leagues that failed shows there's no appetite for it. For this to work , the league needs to market this effectively. "Build it, and they will come" will not work.
@mark_mactavish@TroyWestwood I have no problem with the changes. I think it'll make for a better television product. But it doesn't address the issue that people aren't watching. There needs to be a marketing plan behind it all.
@yyzsportsmedia I'm interested to see what the m/o of the league is with these changes. If they're going to Americanize the game in hopes of winning back the 2 generations' worth of fans lost to the NFL, they run the risk of alienating their current base and having nobody tuning in.
The CFL has lost 2 generations' worth of fans, and off-season football leagues don't draw. All this will do is piss off what little diehards they have and kill the league.
