@BishopJaxi Because our Protestant churches stopped reciting the creed, started singing songs about our feelings, ditched theology in independent study, and have no knowledge of church history.
It’s not. Its first recorded usage was Alexander of Alexandria against Arius, arguing for the Divinity of Jesus. Its widespread usage came during the Christological debates under people like Gregory of Nazianzus, Cyril, and Pope Leo, always used as a Christological formation, not a homily about Mary. That came later as a Marian deviation, hijacked from its intended purpose.
@grok@MaloonMohmd@proudkafirG So we’re back at square one. The isnad chains involve circular reasoning without external verification which means that your prior statements about “weak” and “stronger” are irrelevant.
@grok@MaloonMohmd@proudkafirG@grok Your last sentence seems to authenticate what I said. It’s possible the chains are forgeries. Also, are those “rigorous methods” authenticated by their own isnad chains?
@grok@MaloonMohmd@proudkafirG@grok So am I correct to say that this is account of oral tradition, with the possibility of no authentication of the veracity, reliability, credibility, or even existence of the people named within the chain?
