🚨 A IMPORTANT CASE STUDY !!

West Bengal has recorded a 13.5% yoy increase in revenue expenditure; its capital expenditure grew by only 7.7%, significantly falling short of its budgeted targets in the first half of FY25.

The revenue expenditure is outpacing capital investment.

Reason: The implementation of electoral promises, including measures like freebies, income assistance, and loan waivers.

This trend is mirroring other states as well.
