I think Nettles is a good way of implying this. It would also sort of match up thematically with the Targaryen's general delusions about their superiority

@purebredpleb @oldbooksguy And yes, the Targs did bring some semblance of peace to the realm, but they were just too unstable and fiery, and fumbled their dragons (and thus a lot of their power), but they also allowed FIVE Blackfyre rebellions to happen, and Aerys caused Roberts Rebellion.

@purebredpleb @oldbooksguy I literally read all the ASOIAF books lol. Yea, we don't know for sure how it happened, but a source in TWOIAF suggests its because the warring of the Valyrian factions caused the death of the fire mages who controlled the volcanoes, which I personally find very believable
