Same video. Five different reasons to click.
Stakes: what breaks if they skip
Transformation: the gap between before and after
Specificity: a number, a name, a time
Curiosity: the missing piece, not a tease
Counter-intuitive: the result that shouldn't have happened
If two of these are the same idea in different type, you have four.
Write the five before you open a file. Then compose from footage you actually have.
@smoki_fushiguro I'd click B. The hazmat zombies give you a story, and the purple orb sits dead center so the hook survives on a phone. A's cleaner but just a pose. One tweak: make the Walter face a hair bigger so the Breaking Bad joke lands at a glance.
@yapalotl They're almost the same shot. I'd run the one where the yellow duck cape reads biggest against the green — that's your only brand signal. One fix: crop tighter on you and add 2-3 words for what the video is about. Right now it's a scenic, not a click reason.
You don't need better fonts. You need a clearer promise. If a stranger can't tell what the video is about in half a second, the thumbnail failed before the click.
@Uswat_in_Style For skincare, a tight close-up beats a wide shot: your face mid-routine, or the one product that actually changed things, plus 2-3 words max. Then keep that layout every upload so people spot you in the feed before they read the title.
@KacperRutk Smart test. In that feed the STEAL THESE NOW one wins: your face plus the gold text pops off the dark row. LEVEL UP YOUR GROKBOT has no face and eight tiny icons that turn to mush on a phone. Blow up one icon or add your face and it stops blending in.
Your title and thumbnail should sell the same promise. When one whispers and the other shouts, people bounce. ThumbnailsMaker starts from your hook, then builds five packs that match what you wrote.
@champagneszn777 Stop hunting for the perfect one. Pick the single thing the video proves (one chart, one number, or your face reacting), make it huge, 3 words max. Then load 2-3 versions into Test & Compare and let the clicks pick for you.
@ourladygremlin The panic face sells it instantly, those teary saucer eyes read even at phone size. Since you're reacting to every episode, make this the template: same face and AAAA, plus a big episode number in one corner so the series looks like a set in the feed.
@NosideN8@DenWants2Battle For 4+ a month, build one template and reuse it: your reaction face on one side, the pack or hit card huge on the other, 3 words max. Then you only swap the card and the face. Shoot a batch of reaction faces in one go so you are never stuck mid-edit.
@RiostheRooster@CronosNewDawn The plague mask is a great hook, but right now this reads like official key art, not your review. Swap THE NEW DAWN for a 1-2 word verdict and make your rooster logo bigger. On a phone, that corner branding is the first thing to vanish.
@Beybightt I'd click the bottom one. The yellow rim light on the armored guy pulls him off the Nether red so the offer reads instantly. Top is purple-on-red and goes flat. One fix: add 2–3 words for what's being traded so it isn't just two cool skins.
@AlfieChatTW With 23k subs and videos stuck at ~100–250 views, Browse is the leak. Those four thumbs each pack too many faces and labels — on a phone they blur. One hero character, 3 words max, theory in the title. Your "no powers" frame is the clearest of the set.
@WonderStarYT@smiles_bunny The grinning tux figure is the hook, but the crop cuts him off right above the teeth, and the eyes are what make horror stare back. Pull the frame down so his whole face is in, and make the title bigger. On a phone, CONCEPT TRAILER is the first thing to vanish.
@TopazTvee Same. The tell is they all chase the same glossy, hyper-detailed look, so nothing stands out. Since you're learning: start from a real frame of your own gameplay or face, crop tight, and keep text to 3 words or fewer. Recognizable beats shiny.
@123212321688H RIDE YOUR PET at 3.6% is the clear winner, and pausing the 0.9% Codex one was smart. Next: don't just chase CTR. TAP. EVOLVE has similar clicks but more plays per dollar. Scale the ride creative and kill anything under ~1.5% once you have a few thousand impressions.
@tabouret_dev The stamp hand is doing the real work here, it instantly says bureaucracy. The shadow person melts into the wall on a phone though. Pull them a step forward or add a faint rim light so the mystery reads before the title does.
@ThumbnailWatch A. The red guy melting into the red slide is the whole joke and it reads in half a second. B's ship deck is cool but too busy on a phone, and the bubble face fights the binoculars. Keep the punchy 7/20 counter.
@NoMooreMercy The cars and rain look expensive, but THEY WERE WRONG is doing the click work. One fix: your corner face is tiny. Pull that reaction bigger so people know whose take this is, not just a generic chase render.
@VanishScript The gold Desert Eagle panel is the only one that pops; the rifle and axe melt into the cave dark. On a phone this reads as three random guns, not a reason to play. Make one weapon huge, crop the other two, and add 2-3 words for the mode or the feeling.
