Teachers, it's not just admin that should leave notes of praise, you should be sharing them too. if you happen to walk by a class doing something interesting, or students tell you about it, send a note or leave one on their board.

We are learning about the Aztecs who built chinampas on Lake Texcoco, human made island gardens. The students worked together to build their own chinampa. They were really proud of the final product and want to start planting crops 😅

I’m trying this for the first time this year. When the students show a level of mastery with a set of multiplication/division facts I promote them to the next belt with a little ceremony. I’ve never had kids more motivated to learn their facts/concepts and show what they know.

To go along with our writing project about helping the common good, the students are taking action to recycle pallets and create a mural. I’ve never done this project before but the kids are super excited and we’ve had help from some awesome volunteers.
