Initial aim: to help women detained at Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Center improve their health, well-being and ability to face the future through gardening.

6 gardening sessions have now run at Yarl’s Wood, benefiting 11 women. With seedling germinating there is plenty to pot on and prick which is quite calm therapeutic. Most of the plants are thriving, although the rabbits seem to be taking a particular liking to the strawberries.

The first photos from Yarl's Wood - this is the most organised shed I have ever had! The third session will run on Saturday and our challenge is to clear nettles from a flower bed, ready for planting.

At last, the Yarl's Wood Gardening Scheme really is going ahead. Starts on Saturday 7th April.
