For those who know circumcision is wrong, what is your opinion on lip/tongue tie releases (frenectomy)?
There's obviously big differences, but there are some parallels. Are there any cons that I should be aware of? Dentist said no (but a doctor would say the same about circ)
Today I talked to THREE coworkers, all who are having their first boy about keeping them intact.
One was planning on it.
One wasn't sure before I spoke to them. I hope they'll review the info I sent.
One just thanked me for the info.
So I hope that they make the right choice.
Sent a message to a coworker today who is having a boy about circumcision. I was super nervous. He responded:
"Thanks! Ya we were not planning on that either. Appreciate the info"
Glad another boy is safe. I just wish I had confirmation that I convinced someone.
What is the most cost effective way to convince people to not cut their children? It hurts me to know it's happening to a million boys a year in the US alone. Making posts online and a bumper sticker doesn't seem to be enough.
I feel like https://t.co/yiCqYpa8vi can be too direct for those who are prudish (their step 1 is looking at pictures)
To me it seems https://t.co/wNBsWY9QG4 hits the different points more tactfully (unhealthy, unnatural, unkind) but is very religious.
Do you know of any others?
Yesterday I handed a coworker a https://t.co/HgaFw6TL2P card and told him how the information made a big impact on our lives. His wife is 9 months pregnant with their first son. He thanked me sincerely. It's the first time I had the courage to give one out, and it went so well!
It's pretty frustrating that women have a greater voice on men's issues than men do.
My wife could tell a pregnant woman not to circumcision her child, but I cannot.
@Joseph4GI I've considered giving $1 to GoFundMe's for circumcisions, and in my comment tell them to save their money and see https://t.co/yiCqYp9AFK instead.
However, I haven't because I'm afraid it'd backfire.
Wow, it's been more than a year, but life got busy when my boy was born. It was a great birth at a birth center. He's now 1 year old!
We moved and are looking for a new pediatrician in the Utah Highlands area. I'll have to start interviewing around.
That's the same as a parent whose child has early severe Huntington's disease, which will kill them in their 20's, and prevent them from playing sports (the one thing they dream of doing), and a cure is invented, but she intentionally prevents the child from knowing about it.
I never realized until recently that I hate the mom in Halloweentown. She cuts her children off from magic, which greatly shortens their lifespans, without their knowledge or consent, just because she prefers doing things the hard way, despite her child's extreme interest.
AAAAH. I was following someone because they talked about foreskin restoration, but it turns out they are simultaneously a circumfetishist. If you like genital mutilation, please delete your account and go get help.
@ToraTigress Unfortunately, many do still retract and teach parents to retract:

Hopefully as the number of intact boys increases, we'll see more education and a decrease in forced retraction
My mom pulled out a baby photo album. The first 3 pics were me, freshly born. In 1 of the 3 they were rubbing the goop off me. They must have forced retraction, as the head was exposed and very red.
Now I know if we get transferred, that I don't want someone to wipe down my boy.
@5co77y_Mac@PissedOffWI I like "Bodily Integrity." I agree that leeching onto other political arguments is ineffective/detrimental. Even trying to work with FGM activists makes unhelpful comparisons of which is worse. I do like YWB's slogan of "Boys are born perfect too," although it's not as "snappy."
Ok y’all, thread time 🧵
#intactivists need to stop using the slogan “His Body, His Choice”
It frames an extreme and peculiar decision as a normal inevitability. It lends legitimacy to the very thing we are fighting.
