Roughly $2 trillion in notional positioning clears the deck. 💣 Every level we've traded this week — the put walls, the shelves, the triggers — is built on open interest that partially stops existing tomorrow morning. Here's what actually happens, and why Monday scares me more than tomorrow. 2. First, a mechanical detail most traders miss: SPX and NDX monthlies are AM-settled. They settle on tomorrow's OPENING print — the SET — not the close. So the index gamma tied to this expiration dies at 9:30am tomorrow, not 4pm. The pressure points are tonight's close and tomorrow's opening auction. 3. Look at where our walls sit and you'll see why this expiry matters: SPX 7500 put wall. SPX 7900 call wall. NDX 29100 put wall. Classic round monthly strikes. That's monthly OI. That's tomorrow's expiry. The floors we've leaned on all week are held up by contracts that are about to not exist. 🕳️ 4. What happens when ~$2T in options expires: Total gamma drops sharply. Less gamma = less pinning = wider ranges. The market gets "unshackled." Now remember where we are: ALREADY in negative gamma. We're removing the training wheels from a bike that's already wobbling. 🚲 5. And the quiet flows die too. All week, decaying puts have generated a small supportive bid under these floors — charm and vanna flows, the plumbing nobody sees. After tomorrow's settlement: gone. SPX 7700 is the nearest heavy strike above us, 7650 below. If we grind back toward 7700 late today, understand what that is — pin flow, not a bull case. Don't read hedging mechanics as conviction. 🧲 7. What to watch TOMORROW: The open. AM settlement + live Iran headlines = gap risk into the SET print. Whoever's short puts at 7500 / 29100 has MAXIMUM incentive to defend the open... and zero incentive after it. A floor that's iron at 9:30 can be paper at 10:15. ⚠️ 8. Then Friday afternoon: once settlement clears, the market is at its most unpinned point of the entire month. Into a weekend. With "Economic Fury" live. Ranges can expand in either direction with nothing structural in the way. 9. MONDAY is the real event. 🗓️ The map resets. New walls, new zero gamma, new triggers — sometimes hundreds of points from the old ones. And the rebuild is the tell: ▶️ Put walls rebuild HIGHER → institutions hedging for more downside ▶️ Call structure rebuilds overhead → the dip is being faded Tuesday's map tells you what smart money did with the reset. 10. The trap to avoid this weekend: "29204 held Thursday" means NOTHING Monday if the OI behind it expired. Every level gets re-earned next week. Carry no thesis built on this week's map through the weekend. 11.
