Thoroughly average. Proud parent of 3 neuro-divergent kids who are spaced out across the gender continuum. I hope to be seen as an ally. He/Him. Imperfect.
Today there was a collision between a C Train and car on Memorial at Deerfoot.
The driver of the car had stopped to help another motorist whose vehicle stalled on the tracks. As the train approached he ran back to his car and attempted to move it but he wasn't fast enough.
Judicial activism is only bad when it produces results we don't like. SCOTUS refusing to follow its own precedents and granting the president virtually unlimited immunity and inventing law whole cloth to suit the ruling party's whims... Isn't that also judicial activism?
Want to see a Judicial Coup?
Court blocks and injunctions:
Biden: 14 in 4 years
Clinton: 12 in 8 years
Obama: 12 in 8 years
GW Bush: 6 in 8 years
Trump: 175+ in 4 years and 10 months.
The Judiciary is filled with Leftist activists in robes.
Corrupt judges must be addressed.
Thank God that Peter Lougheed had the foresight to demand that parliamentary supremacy be preserved in S.33 of the Charter.
It’s hard to believe the degree to which activist judges have twisted the Charter over the last 5 decades.
Your terror at the idea <LE GASP!!> that a significant portion - perhaps a majority? - of the population not only doesn't see things the same way as you, doesn't agree with you, AND sees what you're doing, is really starting to show.
This dude is a devout extreme left wing socialist and former NDP leadership candidate.
The more he speaks, the more Albertans will recoil at everything he & the NDP stand for.
Keep talking and threatening us big guy. You are making the Premier’s case better than anyone else possibly could.
Alberta has been punting this can down the road for decades. The solution has always been to just give the teachers more pay but never more resources. Educators have been saying all along that the problem hasn't always been about teacher pay.
Don Getty on the golf course as the Principal Group collapses. Jason Kenney drinking at the Sky Palace during COVID. Danielle Smith in the airport lounge while taking away teachers charter rights.
@skdcee@DonBraid Charter schools are public schools and receive the same per student funding as the rest of the public system.
I have no idea why private schools that charge tuition get any money. There's an argument to be made that those should maybe get a tax refund but not what we have now
REMINDER: Strikes are a last resort. But they’re supposed to be disruptive. Without disruption, working people would have no leverage; we would have to swallow whatever the powerful force down our throats. Striking & supporting strikers is how we fight back & balance the scales.
When a concerned Albertan raised concerns about vulnerable Albertans being treated fairly by an Alberta Police force…
Bruce McAllister cut her mic and told her to leave.
This is the UCP’s “consultation”.

@cspotweet Haven't you noticed that as much as these people cry about Ottawa's interference in provincial affairs, they see absolutely nothing wrong with stepping all over municipal governments to get their way?
@BarbLarochelle@TheBreakdownAB Remember that this young man and all of his peers will be voting in the next election. I'm not sure the UCP have figured that out yet.
Hey @GlobalEdmonton@GlobalCalgary@CTVCalgary@CBCNews@DonBraid I hope this gets covered on tonight's late news.
Our government is treating citizen concerns with contempt and then suggesting people should be punished for their opinion.
Are you going to do anything about it?
At tonight’s “consultation”…
When a high school kid tried to raise concerns about the teachers strike, Bruce McAllister cut the kids mic and then suggested his parents should have beaten him more.
Listen to the clip yourself…
It’s…
Telling.
