Heyyy guysss, I’m the friend he featured in his writing. I know it might have looked insensitive! but I’m so glad that we were posted to the same state! I just can’t imagine doing “camp” (another word for hell) alone! Sorry not sorry. I need my friend to be in it with me.
To be honest, I know exactly how you feel. To be so close to having a chapter of your life planned out in the most meaningful way it can be, and then have something ruin the entire dream that you haven’t even experienced personally, but only from a distance.

The security man in our office didn't come to work today because his wife put to bed.
The tradition in our office is that whenever a staff member has a major celebration, like a wedding or child dedication, everyone contributes ₦20,000 towards a gift and support.
So HR said we shouldn't wait until the baby dedication since the man would really need the money now. The company would sort it out first and then deduct the ₦20,000 contribution from each of our salaries at the end of the month.
There are 11 of us in the office, so the plan was for everyone to contribute ₦20,000, making ₦220,000 in total. ₦20,000 would be used to buy diapers, while the remaining ₦200,000 would be transferred to his account.
Then a lady in Accounting said, "Why should we contribute ₦20,000 for a common gateman? He doesn't even earn up to that amount as salary. She has a lot of expenses this month. Let's just do ₦5,000 each."
The annoying part is that this same lady had an appendix operation not long ago, and nobody complained when the whole office contributed to support her.
Some people are naturally wicked.
The woman I’m dating stayed over one night.
The next morning, she got out of bed, stepped onto my bedroom floor, and let out this little yelp.
“Ow… your floor is freezing cold.”
Then she laughed and tiptoed all the way to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
I just stood there watching her.
I didn’t say anything.
But I remembered it.
The following week, I bought a soft little rug and placed it on her side of the bed.
Right where she always gets up.
A few days later, she stayed over again.
lol! He introduced me, his mum said I wasn’t “meek and calm” for his type of person. Mind you his type of person was that he “yells, argues a lot, and has anger issues”. Basically she was looking for a coping mechanism for his flaws, not a wife. Wouldn’t have married him anyway.
