Courage Rewarded: Victims will finally find justice as sexual abuser pleads guilty

Former school teacher and Media24 executive Willem Breytenbach has pleaded guilty to seven charges of indecent assault and three charges of sexual assault, marking a significant victory for his victims and justice.

Breytenbach was arrested in December 2019 after Deon Wiggett, one of Breytenbach’s victims, exposed him in a four-part true crime podcast - My Only Story. This gave other victims the courage to come forward.

This outcome stands as a powerful testament to the resilience of survivors who bravely spoke out, reminding us all that justice is possible when voices are raised against abuse.
