What does a century of heritage look like? Day one of the 2026 Tiger Brands Heritage Tour saw our editor, Maryna Steyn, documenting every moment and truly enjoying the experience.

The day began in Schweizer-Reneke, Northwest, where she captured South African farming resilience up close. Despite heavy rains challenging the season, farmers were out in the fields working tirelessly and even hand-heaping harvests to protect the crop and ensure only the best makes it to the silo.

From there, the Journey of a Jar came to life:

🌱 Sustainable farming in Schweizer-Reneke
🌾 Careful drying, sorting, and cleaning (no stones or sand allowed).
🏆 Strict multi-stage grading and hand-selection for top quality.

From soil to silo, the full process reflects precision, pride, and heritage. Day one showed exactly why Black Cat Peanut Butter remains a proudly local favourite. 🥜
