In the 9th, Chicago's league leading hitter Tony Cuccinello led off with a single. When he rounded the bag too far at first, he was caught in a rundown. But Skeeter Webb dropped the ball and the runner was safe at second.
The #Tigers biggest threat of the game was loading the bases bases with nobody out in the 4th inning, but Bob Maier struck out and Bob Swift grounded into a double play to end the threat. Detroit was held to four hits, all singles.
The crowd of 16,868 saw the game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 9th when a squeeze bunt by Mike Tresh scored Tony Cuccinello. The six won the game and the series.
The rubber match of the five games series between the #Tigers and Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park turned into a pitcher's duel between Detroit's Dizzy Trout and Chicago's Bill Dietrich.

A Sunday doubleheader crowd of 21,864 at Comiskey Park saw the White Sox complete a sweep of the #Tigers with a 7-5 victory in the nightcap. The Sox jumped to a 6-1 lead through the first five innings and held on in the 9th when the #Tigers scored three times.
