The combination of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) etc - has resulted in a 9% decline in the number of night time businesses in Glasgow from June 2022 to June 2023.
In contrast, Edinburgh experienced just a 2% loss during the same period.

This is a further clear indication that NDR in Scotland needs revamped, & VAT needs reduced to 10% for hospitality businesses to allow the sector to survive, thrive & compete #SHG
Companies should of course make profit, but when energy companies are making billions more than even they expected, whilst small businesses are getting squeezed in a death grip by utility bills surely something is wrong…? 🤷♂️
UK Hospitality urgently needs to be brought in line with the rest of Europe.

Sweden 10%
Spain 12%
Greece 13%
It would save businesses, jobs and attract investment.
