If we treated adults the way we treat kids in school… it would be illegal.

Criminals aren’t even treated this badly.

Students are forced to sit in silence.

Freedom is banned. You can't go to the toilet without permission. You HAVE to learn what they say.

And if you disobey or fail...

You're punished.

In any other workplace, you'd be sued for that treatment. If a parent did it, it would be called abuse.

But in schools, it's just Tuesday.

Where's the freedom of expression?

Where's the right to be heard?

Where's respect for who they actually are?

The UN Convention on Children's Rights says every child has the right to express themselves freely. To have their talents developed to their fullest potential.

Is that what's happening?

We lock kids in rooms for 8 hours a day.

Tell them when to speak, eat, what to wear, when to move, when to think.

Then wonder why they grow up afraid to dream.

That's why I wrote a book for kids.

To teach them not to be afraid and that their individuality is what makes them special.

School won't teach them how to think for themselves or discover who they really are...

My wife is my greatest teacher.

Yesterday, it was her birthday….

It was also the day I announced my new book to teach kids about business.

That wasn’t a coincidence.

I chose this day because my wife makes it special.

We home-educate our son together, and not to brag, but she’s the most amazing wife and mother in the world.

This book (and I) are inspired by her.

By the lessons she teaches both me and Aidan.

We home-educate because we don’t agree with the curriculum. But I have enormous respect for teachers.

Watching Helen pour her heart into teaching one child (our son) makes me truly understand how incredible teachers are who show up every day for 30 years.

Thank you for inspiring me, not just to write this book, but every single day since we met 22 years ago.
