EXCLUSIVE: Tesla has just officially received approval for its full Autonomous Vehicle Network Company permit in Nevada, clearing the way for Tesla to launch a paid public Robotaxi service in Las Vegas.

This officially allows @Tesla to deploy up to 5,000 robotaxis over the next 12 months. The permit approval covers all of Clark County (which includes Las Vegas), but this approval actually allows Tesla to operate across the entire state of Nevada, according to the commission, as long as Tesla notifies the commission of when they want to expand their geofence.

I just watched live the Nevada Transportation Authority’s entire 4-hour long August 20th General Session meeting, and a few minutes ago the Commission approved Tesla’s permit.

Tesla representatives were at the meeting today, and they said that they won't deploy all 5,000 robotaxis at once in the beginning (obviously), but that this permit approval gives them the flexibility to deploy more vehicles over time. They'll start with a small launch of a few vehicles and then grow from there.

Tesla completed Nevada’s self-certification process for Robotaxi last November, and applied for an Autonomous Vehicle Network Company permit on June 3, 2026. Now with all approvals, Tesla can begin commercial Robotaxi operations in the state once they complete a few simple administrative things (vehicle inspections, insurance, provide the rates to be charged for transportation, etc). That should happen within the next 30 days.

To be clear, today's approval is separate from the interim operating order Tesla previously received, which limited its robotaxi fleet to just 10 vehicles. Today’s approval replaces that previous interim operating order, and authorizes a fleet of up to 5,000 fully autonomous vehicles.

⚠️ Ministerstvo dopravy si samo prodloužilo lhůtu. A pak nestihlo ani tu.

Poslali jsme jim 2. července osm otázek k Tesla FSD. Máte analýzu? Máte termín? Máte jediný dokument?

V pátek 17. července ve 21:31, dvě a půl hodiny před koncem zákonné lhůty, přišlo prodloužení o deset dní. Důvod: potřebují „konzultace a poradu mezi více složkami" ministerstva, aby zjistili, jestli ten dokument existuje.

Deset dní na otázku máte, nebo nemáte.

V pondělí uplynula i tato lhůta. Nepřišlo nic. A další odklad už zákon nedovoluje, prodloužit lze jednou a nejvýš o deset dní.

Ministr přitom písemně sdělil Sněmovně:

❌ vlastní provozní data ministerstvo nemá
❌ termín dokončení posouzení stanovit nelze
❌ harmonogram rozhodnutí stanovit nelze
❌ náklady vyčíslit nelze

Včera proto odešla stížnost na ministerstvo a k tomu podání na ÚOOÚ. Důvod je prostý: o stížnosti na ministerstvo rozhoduje podle zákona ministr téhož ministerstva, a ten úřad je jediný, kdo mu může nařídit, ať odpoví.

Přijetí FSD je přitom podle čl. 39 odst. 5 jeden dopis do Nizozemska. Pět zemí ho poslalo.

A včera Tesla zveřejnila provozní data z těch pěti zemí.

„Nemůžeme si dovolit experiment na našich silnicích, dokud nejsou k dispozici jasná data."

Ta data k dispozici jsou, pane ministře @BednarikIvan. Chybí jen ten dopis.

Mr @PhilippeTabarot, je ne compte pas fermer les yeux car votre décision concernant le FSD de Tesla n’est pas justifiable sur le plan de la sécurité, et c’est bien ce critère qui devrait compter.

La réalité factuelle est que le FSD (Supervised) rend la conduite nettement plus sûre que la moyenne des conducteurs humains. 7x moins de collisions en moyenne, dont 5x moins hors autoroute.

Cela sur des milliards de kilomètres, en ville, route et autoroute, donc statistiquement représentatif.

Vous allez évidemment arguer que ce sont les chiffres avancés par Tesla.

Alors allons plus loin, de très nombreux experts indépendants ont bien reconnu que - si selon eux les chiffres étaient surestimés en raison de biais méthodologiques - le système apportait une amélioration réelle quant à la sécurité.

Mais l’argument qui doit en effet terrifier vos amis de chez Renault et Stellantis, c’est qu’au dernier trimestre plus de la moitié des acheteurs de Tesla aux US ont pris le FSD, qui en devient clairement une véritable motivation d’achat.

Aucune surprise sur le fond, puisqu’il apporte un sacré confort de conduite et entraîne bien moins d’incidents et accidents.

Mr @PhilippeTabarot, non, vos raisons pour ne pas n’autoriser le FSD Tesla à en France n’ont rien à voir avec la sécurité.
