Turns out there's not so much point in having those ballot booths since how you vote is on a list somewhere for some unknown person to uncover!
We are trusting the govt/state won't use that collected data in a tyrannical way ('emergency powers' ... etc)!

At Leabrook Church Polling Station my electoral no. (identifying me & my address) was put in pencil next to my polling card no. (identifying who I vote for)
When challenged the election officers said 'we've been told to do this'

How does this in principle not entirely undermine a free vote in a democratic election?
How do I know that in practice this is a way of coercing voting? @CorruptSandwell
