I knew I loved reading research, however I didn't think I loved it this much. The Doctorate is challenging me in ways I never knew possible and I love it.
Certainly making me look at coaching, coach education, coach development and coaches through a different lens!
T1 Rugby... I can't explain the positive impact it is continuing to have a college.
You can turn up to one of our college sessions, and you'll see 30+ young people, mixed sex, VERY mixed abilities with smiles on faces, playing rugby, having a laugh.
Brilliant environment.
Just realised, we've had nearly 40 students involved in rugby training in the first month of college; last year we probably had 20 ish by May! (50/50 split boys/girls
Build it, create a fun environment, don't over complicate it and it will grow!
The college group are awesome.
13 months from zero rugby at college to a T1 Rugby Squad of 16 (equal b/g split) and a first XV-a-side fixture in 5/6 years next month!
Pretty proud of what we are building! Small steps! More people playing rugby! 🏉💪🏻
Planning to do a podcast: ‘Sport Beyond Borders’ - so if anyone would be keen to have a chat about anything sport, coaching, coach education, sport development, coaching abroad; ping me a message as I’m excited about having some cool chats 🤙🏻
Alongside my Doctorate, I’m finally planning on build my own coaching portfolio encompassing all the things I’m passionate about: coach ed, research, development, coaching abroad / coach migration.
This time last year at college, we were just starting out trying to get rugby back ‘off the ground’ ‘If we get one fixture, that’s success!’
Currently putting a squad of 14-16 together for mixed T1 Festival next week - Boy’s contact fixtures restarting soon too!
How good!
@girlwithredhurr I hardly use X anymore but I didn’t realise I had a certain person on Threads… I’ve connected the dots and blocked her!
Good to see X is still bringing out the drama. 🤣
Few days at home for the first time since 2020 (2018 if I don’t count Covid) • Best few days, beers with my best mates, red arrows, run around Carrow Road 💛 and re-exploring Norwich. Oh and I met my niece ❤️.
I left the fitness industry in 2014 at 31. I’m stronger now at 43 then I ever was as a PT. And I’m here for it! I joked with a friend that I’m chasing my age with DB Bench Press… I chase is very much on!
