The tax authority now funds the border operation.

The "Volunteer" Lie:

58.6% of budget goes to salaries and pensions. CEO paid £189,000. Higher than the Prime Minister.

The "Independent" Lie:

HM Coastguard "tasks and coordinates" all operations. RNLI admits it: Coastguard is their "tasking agency."

The "No Government Funding" Lie:

Largest donor is "official charity of the Civil Service." Funded by civil service payroll. Tax relief subsidies. Chaired by Head of HMRC.

The Reality:

A 160-year-old state-adjacent institution, captured by banking interests, lawyer-controlled, government-tasked, internationally-coordinated through 160 organizations in 50 countries, running border enforcement under charitable cover.

You didn't donate to lifeboats.

You funded a migration coordination network with offshore capabilities, sanctions-violating leadership, and Crown approval.

Sharmila Chowdhury @sharmilaxx gave 30 years of spotless service to the @NHS. Not one disciplinary mark. Not one complaint. She was the budget holder for radiology at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust, which means she could see exactly where the money was going.

What she saw was two consultant radiologists billing the NHS for shifts they were spending at a private hospital down the road. The Trust lost £250,000 of public money through those arrangements.

She reported it to her line manager. Her medical director. HR. Counter Fraud. The Department of Health. The Treasury. Number 10.

She had a paper trail so airtight that @ITV undercover surveillance later caught the same consultants still absent during paid hours, and caught Miranda Harvie and Akkib Rafique taking direct cash payments from patients for private ultrasounds inside the NHS building, money going straight into their own account.

So what did the Trust do with this documented, camera-confirmed, publicly broadcast fraud?

They sacked her. On fabricated counter-allegations from a subordinate she had herself reported for breaching patient safety. The man who filed those allegations later sent an email signed off with "0800-F***-YOU-B****." He received a Top Mentor award from the Trust that same year.

Sharmila won the Interim Relief Hearing. She won the internal appeal. The judge asked the Trust to reinstate her. The Trust said no and refused to let her return. She was blacklisted. Job offers were withdrawn the moment employers discovered who she was. She settled out of court in 2012 with two years pay, out of which she had to pay £77,500 in legal fees alone. 38 Degrees38 Degrees

In July 2013, she was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer. Multiple consultants believe this is a direct result of the sustained stress of her treatment as a whistleblower.

The consultants she reported kept their jobs.

George Osborne said he could not get involved. Andrew Lansley said he could not get involved. David Cameron said he could not get involved. Every single official body, every single minister, every single department looked at a proven, camera-documented NHS fraud case and decided it was an employment matter.

RNLI PAY AND SALARIES

The RNLI’s latest audited accounts reveal a substantial senior salary bill.

In 2025:

Total staff costs: £117.2 million
Wages and salaries: £92.5 million
Employer social security: £10.2 million
Pension costs: £14.5 million

The RNLI also disclosed 125 employees receiving more than £60,000 when severance payments are included.

That breaks down as:

£60k to £69,999: 68 staff
£70k to £79,999: 23
£80k to £89,999: 14
£90k to £99,999: 6
£100k to £109,999: 5
£110k to £119,999: 4
£130k to £139,999: 2
£140k to £149,999: 1
£150k to £159,999: 1
£170k to £179,999: 1

Excluding severance, 113 employees were still above £60,000.

Chief Executive Peter Sparkes had an annual salary of £175,000.

His 2025 employment package was disclosed as:

Salary: £170,900
Employer NI: £18,667
Pension contribution: £24,235
Other benefits: £3,500

Total: £217,302

The Executive Team collectively received £1.776 million in benefits, with a further £0.2 million in Executive Team severance payments.

Trustees, by contrast, receive no remuneration.

These are not estimates. They come directly from the RNLI’s audited 2025 accounts.

We are now mapping these salary bands against the senior leadership structure, historic job adverts and advertised pay ranges to establish what different RNLI leadership roles are actually costing.
