@MaybeSoland@the_engi_nerd@dwarkesh_sp Fat Man was a janky-ass prototype and they didn't know if they could reliably disarm it for landing, or if it would detonate in flight
@ML_ennial@ettingermentum bro we were all here: https://t.co/DDepdc9PSY
but another easy example of "these people don't actually believe in any of the principles they talk about" would be a ML lecturing me on the importance of private property rights, right now
@ML_ennial@ettingermentum and they got it pulled from school and municipal libraries and got Amazon and eBay to block sales of used copies and you all clapped like seals
@jon_stokes And if WW3 doesn't happen, does he think being in Argentina will help against a sufficiently hostile US government? Is he going to be holed up better than Maduro?
No, I get it, Jon. But here's the thing: I'm gonna be spending WW3 in some ops room keeping a fleet of military satellites working, and the lat/long of that room is already in some missile target list, and whether I make it is gonna depend on how high up the list it is, and how well this missile defense stuff works.
And I'm gonna be there anyway. So if he's pre-committing to desert, why should he get any benefit from the United States at all? Hell, why shouldn't we kill him?
@the_engi_nerd real reason that Space Force exists is that NRO/NGA only like to talk on yellow networks so they need to stand up a whole other service to talk on red networks, I'm sure this is the same thing
