Updated my profile photo on @facebook today. First time I’ve updated it for a number of years.
A few minutes later I receive a message from @Meta advising my account has been disabled because it doesn’t follow community standards.
Completely baffled.
I'm going to host a zoom call for everybody with disabled Instagram and Facebook accounts. I'll tell you how to get them back
I'm tired of getting random phone calls from frustrated business owners who worked hard to figure out my phone number.
Every time Meta announces another breakthrough in AI, it feels like an attempt to distract from the problems users have been reporting for years
False account suspensions. Automated appeal responses. Coordinated mass-reporting abuse. No meaningful human support. These aren't minor bugs they're systemic failures affecting real people, creators, and businesses.
You keep talking about building AI agents that can code and reason, yet your own moderation systems still can't reliably tell the difference between genuine reports and organized abuse
The future of AI means nothing if you can't fix the present.
Stop chasing headlines. Start fixing the platform. Accountability should come before another AI announcement @Meta@MetaAI@instagram@finkd

I got my Instagram account back
On 29th May my account was randomly disabled with no option to appeal.
The only thing that worked was a verified appeal.

Instagram’s credibility is taking a serious hit. More and more users are losing trust in the platform not because of new features, but because of unresolved problems that have been reported for months.
For over 6 months, countless users have been highlighting issues such as false account actions, weak support, fake recovery scams, and the growing number of people being exploited by scammers. Many victims have paid money to individuals claiming they could recover disabled accounts, only to be blocked after sending payment. I have collected multiple examples of these scams.
What is most concerning is the lack of meaningful action. User safety and trust should be a higher priority than feature rollouts. It's also disappointing that stronger regulatory attention has not been given to these issues despite the number of affected users.
A platform used by billions cannot afford to ignore its community. Accountability, transparent support, and stronger action against scams are no longer optional they are essential #Instagram #Meta #MarkZuckerberg #FixInstagram #InstagramSupport #FalseBans #AccountRecovery #ScamAlert #UserSafety #ConsumerRights #Tech #SocialMedia #OnlineScams #DigitalSafety #StopIgnoringUsers
“ I got back from Ibadan 3 days ago, I went to see my man, I wanted to suprise him, when I got there I knocked & he opened only for me to see a woman there, he tried to explain but I didn’t want to listen so I booked my flight back to Lagos, while I was boarding someone asked why I was crying I told him & he said it’s only amala deh come to eat in Ibadan not find love”

Is @Meta ever going to respond to their loyal and sometimes PAYING users on their disabling of thousands of accounts? Entire businesses taken down? Memories lost? @instagram it’s a shame you’re not addressing this!! #meta
imagine running a $100k/month business off Instagram
you wake up one day and your account is banned
no warning, no explanation, no way to get it back
this is happening to business owners right now
Instagram just rolled out a new banning wave and accounts are getting wiped overnight
one day you have a six figure business
the next you have zero leads and no way to reach the audience you spent thousands of dollars and years building
now imagine if you had a channel that couldn't be taken from you
a place where you don't have to worry about getting banned or losing your entire pipeline because a platform changed its mind
that's YouTube
as long as you're not doing anything shady
YouTube doesn't ban businesses for running a legitimate operation
and the amount of businesses waking up to this fact is mind blowing
everyone wants the laydown deals with an 80% close rate
everyone wants to close leads on autopilot
but with all the competition coming to YouTube it's going to be HARD
the sooner you start and dial in your positioning on YouTube the harder it's going to be for your competition to take it from you
start building on YouTube in 2026
SOMEBODY FOUND A WAY TO UNBAN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS
a guy claims he recovered several disabled IG accounts after a ban wave got his multiple profiles suspended
their method:
1. don't submit the appeal through the app
2. open Instagram in a browser
3. upload your profile picture in selfie verification step
4. submit an ID, ideally passport (it's more trustable)
5. wait 20 minutes to 2 hours
he says if nothing happens after a few hours, the account is likely gone
for people who couldn't get their account back through the appeal, there are two ways that may still work:
• try contacting Meta support with Meta Verified
• or file a complaint with a consumer protection agency or your state Attorney General
allegedly 3 out of 5 banned accounts were recovered using this

At this point, I can’t help wondering whether Meta has unintentionally created the perfect marketing funnel for Meta Plus and Meta Max.
Think about it. Who was realistically going to pay $49/month or $350/month for Meta’s premium support plans? The value proposition alone isn’t obvious.
Now thousands of creators are posting on X after losing years of work. Millions of other creators see those posts and start thinking:
“Maybe I should get Meta Plus or Meta Max before this happens to me.”
My own verified account @sanjagpt (305k followers, nearly 10 years of history, $135k+ lifetime Meta ad spend, and a $40k approved Meta ad credit line) was suspended three weeks ago.
To reach support, I purchased Meta Max ($499/month) through another Instagram account and opened Support Case ID: 1057076100204319.
Weeks later, my case is still marked “In Progress.”
No meaningful update.
No human response.
No way to reopen or create another support chat or chat in this existing thread, because Meta only allows one active support case.
I’m cancelling the subscription before the next billing cycle because, despite the promise of priority support for meta max users, I haven’t experienced anything resembling priority.
If this is simply a catastrophic failure of Meta’s AI moderation and support systems, it needs to be acknowledged and fixed.
But if Meta already knows this is happening and allows it to continue, the fear itself becomes incredibly effective marketing for its premium subscription tiers.
Either way, trust in the platform is collapsing. I’m seeing more and more creators question whether it’s worth investing years into building on Instagram when even verified, paying customers can lose everything and struggle to reach a human being.

A woman hiking in Canada nearly became a grizzly’s next meal and the video circulating right now is genuinely one of the most intense wildlife encounters you will ever watch - her dog is with her, a massive grizzly is right there, and somehow she kept her head together long enough for both of them to walk away breathing.
That is not a small thing. Most people talk tough until nature is standing ten feet in front of them and every instinct in your body is screaming to run, and running is exactly the worst thing you can do.
Grizzlies are built to chase, they top out over 700 pounds and can cover ground faster than any human alive. The people who survive these moments are the ones who override pure fear with pure discipline and this woman did exactly that.
If you hike, camp, or spend any real time in the wilderness - bear spray is not optional, it is the difference between a story you tell and one somebody else tells about you.
Could you have kept your cool?
Hats off to her.
Every week I get sent a message from a brand asking me to help get their Instagram back.
What's scary is that there are blackmailers that message instantly after the account gets taken down.
Apparently what is happening is some random rep in some random country gets paid a nominal fee and can easily switch an account to review.
Now even my account, that has been verified for years, over 600k followers and 15 years of history can get turned off torching the ad account.
The process that most people use to get the account back is apparently just as dodgy, probably paying a similar rep that has the same access to get it switched back on.
🚨 Meta has allowed fraudsters and scammers who misuse recovering disabled Instagram accounts in exchange for money.
I have not seen someone selling disabled accounts recovery for X or for TikTok. But for Meta platforms, almost everyone is selling them.
Meta wants this corruption to exist which is why they allow fraudsters to misuse the recovery channels.
This Telegram channel is charging $8,000 per account off of people’s misery. One of the most unethical ways to take money from people.
