House Republicans visited the U.S. border near Yuma early Monday to observe illegal human traffic and its federal facilitation. Speaker @RepBenToma issued the following statement afterward:
“Arizonans need to ask Democrats like President Joe Biden and Governor Katie Hobbs why they are fighting to keep America's border wide open. It's unsafe, it's unsecure, it's un-American, and it’s indefensible.
“Nothing good comes from open borders. Only crime, deadly drugs, violence, unsafe communities, and an unending financial drain on American taxpayers. Yet, Democrat leaders fiercely oppose doing anything about it.
“Arizonans have had enough and want change. They want safe communities and a secure border. House Republicans do too. That's why we support, and this week will final pass, HCR 2060, sending it to the ballot, so the will of Arizona voters is heard.”

Today we honor those who sacrificed all for the love of country and freedom. It is our job to not only honor them today but work to make this a country worthy of that and to continue to honor those who step up and are willing to do the same to defend the leader of the free world.
"We may not be able to do the federal government's job, but we can definitely stop Arizona from becoming like California. Our message to illegal immigrants is simple: if you want to take advantage of Americans, go somewhere else."
The "Protecting Arizona Against Illegal Immigration Act," sponsored by House Speaker @RepBenToma will let voters expand E-Verify law to close significant loopholes that enable the hiring of illegal immigrants & prevent them from obtaining billions in taxpayer-funded benefits. #HCR2060 @AZHouseGOP
