Today, the Obama Presidential Center officially opens in Chicago! Barack and Michelle Obama could have built this center anywhere in the world, but they chose Jackson Park, the South Side of Chicago - the streets where Barack once knocked on doors as a young organizer. I love that that’s where he wanted it to be; The place where his story started.
As this country’s first Black President and First Lady, they never let that be the end of their legacy. They spent every day since opening doors for everyone, regardless of political party, coming up behind them, and Cookie and I have been fortunate to see that commitment up close.
This center isn’t just a monument to what Obama has done. It’s a library, a museum, and a place where the next generation will come to understand not just what he did - but what’s possible for them. Barack, this is so well-deserved. Cookie and I can’t wait to bring the family to visit it in person!
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians 5:22–23 NLT). https://t.co/zv2PoUiHOM
There are some good reasons for prosperity. It isn’t fleshy and anti-spiritual to have nice things. God originally created you to live in a beautiful garden called Eden, without the burdens of sin, sickness, or lack. That’s why people are drawn to beautiful places and things on Earth. God likes beauty and you were made in His image, so it only stands to reason that you’ll like to be surrounded by beauty as well. But the big difference is that God doesn’t count His wealth by the gold streets. He counts His wealth by the souls He possesses.
Success isn’t about doing it all yourself. It’s about building teams who carry the vision and the spirit, so the work continues even when you’re not in the room. Watch the full episode: https://t.co/SAn5EWtU4y #FaithandFinancePodcast
Faith enables us to bring things into the now. And the force of faith is launched in words. Once you come into faith, faith always wins, and faith brings it into where you want it to be. https://t.co/IKOQpWHk8i #weeklydevotional
