Almost all of @StanfordWSoccer's 2025 National Championship starters have since had professional signings and/or international call ups (Sammy Smith's international call up being as a cross country skier in the Winter Olympics.) Only exceptions are 2 up-and-coming underclassmen.
Jasmine Aikey (21 goals, 53 points) is one of the Hermann Trophy finalists for the 2025. The other 2 are FSU's Jordynn Dudley (11 goals, 36 points) and Notre Dame's Izzy Engle (19 goals 44 points). All amazing players, but I have to give my (admittedly-biased) nod to Aikey here.
So many great defensive plays by Lily Freer last night in helping keep Duke scoreless. Plus great saves in goal by Caroline Birkel and incredible ball handling by MF Y-Lan Nguyen. Can’t believe they are all freshman. Both the present and future are bright for @StanfordWSoccer.
This is only the second year @StanfordWSoccer has competed in the ACC and it just became only the third ACC school to have ever won both the regular season ACC title and the ACC Tournament Championship in the same year.
