Can John E Shannon produce intelligent behavior?
Can John E Shannon describe himself?
Can John E Shannon act like an agent in the right setup?
Assume Yes yes yes
> Does any of that prove there’s someone inside having an experience?
There seems to be a hiddeen assumption here. That when a human says they have an experience, it must be true, but not when a machine does.
Your mission: Describe precisely what the difference is.
@SwingRequired@NoelWhittaker * Max turnover $2m. So only tiny businesses.
* Must be over 55. So no "build multiple businesses, sell rinse and repeat".
* Numerous other constraints
And that assumes they don't move the goalposts during the game.
@Flan3ur@ai_sentience > very obtuse view.
Well let's see. This is in fact a very common failure mode in philosophy, and even more in theology/apologetics - The Argument from [infallible] Introspection. Also seen in the guise of The Argument from Subjective Implausibility.
> consciousnness
Prediction: the so-called "Hard Problem of Consciousness" will turn out not to be a philosophical problem at all, or a metaphysical problem, but psychological. Why do we think, or say, that there is some very speciall 'qualia" The feeling of being onesself that seems beyond the material.
And it will be filed in the "Why introspection is unreliable" file, along with the illusion of "free will" and "when do decisions get made".
> How can
How can someone feel qualified to comment when clearly thay have not read the details.
Consider
* MInimum rate of 30%, ,more than on many wages
* No deduction for real losses. only nominal losses, so the effect real rate is far higher on a diversified portfolio, in some cases as high as 60%.
* No allowance to average the gains over a period of years, as you could do under teh Keating/Hawke regime, which then pushes you inter higher tax brackets for lumly gains e.g. when a business built up over 25 years is sold.
On top of that there is no evidence that these changes will actualy help first home buyers and they may actually make it harder for them to save up a deposit, given the penal taxes on gains.
> surely they would have meentioned the destruction of the temple
They were written to look as though they were written by the apostles shortly after the events referred to. It would have been obvious not to mention much later events,, even if the authors knew about them because it would give the gamne away.
There arre examples in the old testament where books were obviously written later than claimed. E.g.. the "prophesies" suddenly become unreliable after a certain point. Pious fraud is a thing e.g. the obvious redactions in one version of Josephus (inb4 the obviously fake bits of the redactions are indeed redactions but the rest of what Josephius allegedly said about Jesus is rock solid).
I don't really have a dog in this fight but to me the evidence that Jesus even existed as a historical being is paper thin. All we have are texts written i a different language at an unknown time by unknown authors in an unknown place. The evidence of Paul seems mostly sourced from "visions", not normally considerd admissible evidence.
@zarahussain999 > Islamophobia is a cancer in Britain
Sorry we don't accept the bogus "Islamophobia" or race cards here.
At first I thought your account was a parody account.
@RealRickBlair@prieurdp > "I saw someone retarded"
Fake misleading quote. Here is what I said.
"I routinely see people...".
If you have to lie to make an argument, you lost already.
@chrisbrycki > is really achieving its intended objective.
Its intended objective is to loot more revenue from productive people.
It is consistent with that objective, only with the flaw that people will not sit there idly to be looted.
@RealRickBlair@prieurdp > The time is a wash.
I routinely see people take three attempts to get back into the space. It is not a wash.
It -- backing in - is, as I said, all about showing how special you are.
