Lads we have a true emergency, shite. We got a mate lost his passport on the way to the game. Apologies to my brother/sister @MBTA@mbta_alerts social manager but the Wakefield bagpiper just sent me this. If Helen from Scotland can send me to the cup, we can do this. Cuz BOSTON
5 things every athlete can control:
1. Attitude
2. Effort
3. Body language
4. Preparation
5. Response to adversity
You can’t control refs.
You can’t control playing time.
You can’t control opinions.
But you can control how you show up.
@PhilStacey_SN Thanks for your coverage, Phil! Not sure if it’s too late to change in story but it was griffin burns that made catch in center. Thanks again
@Jlounsbury11@HackswithHaggs@CoachMurphy7843 Totally agree but, my concern isn't with people that continue to ignore LTAD, it is that the super teams/super leagues are good for 5-10% BUT detrimental toward developing the herd. It's too fast & too cut throat too early resulting in kids that play it safe just try to keep up.
@HackswithHaggs@CoachMurphy7843 Spot on! Mass will always produce top talent that is capable of making the NTDP & top collegiate pro players but we are horrible at developing the "middle class" and late bloomers. Question becomes, what slight adjustments within our current model can we make to address this?
@MikeMcMahonCHN Does that percentage only include kids going from one D1 program to another? Or, does it include kids transferring to D3 teams as well?
@LeeMJElias@belfryhockey Thank you!! The entire interview was great but the piece on the ethical responsibilities of a coach was incredible. Not only is it the "right thing to do" but it also creates the best environment for kids to thrive. Hopefully league and program directors in MA are listening!
The gift of being a coach is helping young athletes become better teammates, leaders, & people over all. It paves a better tomorrow. In Part 2 of our interview with @belfryhockey we discuss the ethics of coaching and how best to build teams. https://t.co/Y0NCOzcH3i
