I would stand in front of oncoming traffic for John Goodman. There are actors. Then there’s John Goodman. This man has done/seen/starred in everything. He can do everything. And at age 74, Goodman just reminded the world why he’s one of the single best actors alive. For those suggesting Digger is a disaster, umm did you see Goodman? Did you see the things this guy pulls off? Protect this man at all costs.
Before Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY, the Coens gave us their own unforgettable Homeric adventure.
O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? (2000) filters THE ODYSSEY through Depression-era Mississippi, swapping Greek gods for sirens, a Cyclops, chain gangs and a radio station.
Deee-Lite - Groove Is in the Heart (1990)
All time classic! Widely regarded as one of the best dance songs of all time. Written & produced by the wacky & wonderful group, the song was released as their debut single & featured on their classic debut album, World Clique.
“You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” was written by Pete Burns, Steve Coy, Wayne Hussey, Tim Lever and Mike Percy. Burns drew inspiration from Luther Vandross' “I Wanted Your Love” and Little Nell's “See You 'Round Like a Record,” combining those influences with his desire for a glittery, electronic disco sound. He pushed for the relatively unknown production team Stock Aitken Waterman to produce the track, helping create the distinctive techno-disco sound that became Dead or Alive's signature.
Released in November 1984 as the first single from Youthquake, “You Spin Me Round” initially received little enthusiasm from the band's record label. Burns later recalled taking out a £2,500 loan to help finance the recording. The song gradually climbed the UK Singles Chart and reached No. 1 after 17 weeks, becoming Dead or Alive's first UK No. 1 and Stock Aitken Waterman's first as producers. It also reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the US Dance chart. The song's dramatic string arrangement was based on Richard Wagner's “Ride of the Valkyries.”
Macklemore speaks in a pre-recorded video at the Power to the People festival: “To me, power to the people means exactly that. Real change has always come from people organizing, resisting, and refusing to accept the world as it is. Right now, there is a genocide happening in Gaza, there is a genocide happening in Sudan, there is immeasurable suffering in the Congo where kids are working in cobalt mines to give us cobalt for our smartphones and electric cars. I believe that resistance means seeing ourselves in all oppressed peoples as brothers and sisters in a global community and using our collective power to end these atrocities. History has shown us that those in power rarely hand over freedom willingly. Liberation has always required people to organize and demand it. None of us are free until all of us are free”

“Andor” creator Tony Gilroy says it’s “tragic” that the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger is threatening to “destroy the architecture” of Hollywood “in the name of venture capital”:
“People say the movie business is in trouble You go around, you stand anywhere you want, what do people talk about? Did you see this? Did you see that? What episode are you on? The business is solid, and to destroy the architecture that made it so in the name of venture capital, it’s tragic.”
Serving as the centerpiece film at #NYFF, “Behemoth!” stars Pedro Pascal as a gifted cellist. While introducing his new film, Gilroy praised the festival’s lineup as a bright spot amid an increasingly turbulent Hollywood landscape.
“When so many things go to sh*t in Hollywood, this is like a thank you,” Gilroy told the crowd. “Thank you for letting us bring our soufflé to your groovy party.”

Kyle Kulinski: “We are ruled over by a bunch of fucking demons. We need to get these motherfuckers out of power as soon as possible and they need to be locked the fuck up. This is a regime of thugs and criminals and gangsters. The ICE Gestapo thugs need to be locked up, the people at the top like Stephen Miller need to be locked up, Donald Trump needs to be locked up, Elon Musk needs to be locked up, Pete Hegseth, they all need to be locked up for crimes against humanity”
Katie Phang: "Get the fuck out of here. Are you kidding me? You think it's a good use of taxpayers time and money to be able to do illegal redactions and withholds that are now forcing me to have to go and sue? Are you joking? But this is how Todd Blanche thinks."
This dude, Abdul El-Sayed, is so freaking smart and quick on his feet as he correctly calls JD Vance "low T," and disciplined enough to stay focused on stuff that matters.
Do the right thing, Michigan! 🌊
Walter Masterson asks Angie Nixon how she overperforms with black voters with a DSA style campaign
I go out and speak to people. I'm an organizer. I don't wait for people to come talk to me.
I didn't come out of nowhere. I have been on the ground in Florida for 19 years.
I consider myself an aggregator, a coalition builder, which is another reason I joined DSA and WFP because right now we're being attacked on all fronts.
In my interview with @AngieNixon, I asked her about what she would tell Jewish voters - particularly Jewish Democrats - who may be leery of voting for her. @CBSMiami
