They ignored us
Then they sent police and shot at us
Then they sent the army
Then they came with money
Then they tried to divide and conquer
Then they sent paid thugs
Nigeria’s finest generation has arrived.
Now, they’re going to our houses at night to arrest us

As the World Cup Begins Without Nigeria
As the World Cup begins today across three nations, I identify with our teeming football followers and urge them not to be despondent that Nigeria is not participating, despite the abundant talent in our land.
Our failure to participate on the global stage is not due to a deficit of talent; it is a direct consequence of a deficit in leadership, planning, and institutional support.
The task of building a better Nigeria rests primarily on the shoulders of the younger generation. Do not watch the World Cup with despair; rather, see it as a reminder of where Nigeria ought to be. We must move our country from being a nation of mere consumers of global entertainment to a nation of proud producers and competitors.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
Not a single ball has been kicked yet, and this is already the picture of the 2026 World Cup:
• The Senegal and Uzbekistan delegations were reportedly subjected to invasive searches upon arrival.
• One of Africa’s top referees was reportedly sent back despite travelling on a diplomatic passport.
• Iraq’s team photographer was denied entry despite holding a valid visa.
• Around 90% of Moroccan supporters who had already purchased tickets reportedly had their visa applications rejected.
• Multiple members of Iran’s support staff were refused visas.
• Switzerland travelled without their star striker, Breel Embolo, after entry issues delayed his arrival. His visa was only granted following significant backlash.
• Iran’s team, despite playing all of its matches in the United States, has reportedly been required to base itself in Mexico and fly in and out for games.
What's the point of hosting a World Cup if so many of the people who make it a WORLD Cup are struggling to take part?
“We’re currently at Bannex, Abuja and the goal is that Tinubu must go and our children must be brought back cos we’re all tired, everybody is tired of this government”

La FIFA obliga a los países anfitriones de un Mundial a hacer LEYES específicas que aseguren la viabilidad del mismo.
Con USA no lo hizo.

This response is extremely disrespectful to Referee Omar Artan, #Somalia, and the entire continent of #Africa, who have all been insulted and humiliated.
Qatar has held a World Cup where everyone who could afford to attend attended, wait till it's the USA hosting and they will have visa restrictions even on the players themselves 😂.
