But if every builder on @avax get away with what @Colonylab did (steal the treasury), and nothing is done, it will probably hurt Avalanche in the long run.

Flexport's team was able to reverse engineer the formula the Administration used to generate the "reciprocal tariffs."

It's quite simple, they took the trade deficit the US has with each country and divided it by our imports from that country.

The chart below shows the predictions of this formula plotted against the actual new tariff rates.

Since the White House now confirmed that they did calculate this based on trade deficit and not tariffs, we can conclude:

1) Trump doesn’t know what the fuck a trade balance actually shows.

2) We’ve literally slapped some countries with tariffs saying “we won’t remove it till you remove yours” when they have nothing to remove.

Like some island nation who sells something to the US as its only industry can’t turn around and magically buy 100% of its GDP from the US to balance its trade.

So neither the president, nor his cabinet, nor his economic advisory council know how the fuck basic trade works! 😫

Somehow I missed this one but I’m going to go ahead and say “Heard and McDonald Islands” which are research stations with with no permanent population, and only penguins, is being slapped with a 10% tariff.

Because the Trump admin claims it has a 10% tariff on them… which it can’t…
