Scaloni was furious after the Switzerland game because a few players were late to the team bus. 😅
Just look at Messi, bro. Following orders like a normal person 😭🐐
Doesn’t even take anything to just be a good lecturer. Don’t know why the ones in Nigerian universities thrive on being monsters for no reason.
Good to see the few good ones being appreciated.
Woke up this morning thinking about the quality of life I’m living in this country, literally all my life I’ve been conditioned to live this way, this isn’t the life meant for me as Nigerian.
In the last 48 hrs I’ve not had light for close to 2hrs, dawg this isn’t life… me and my flatmates been burning money on fuel, it’s crazy, can’t cook cos there’s no light to even store the food.
I have been house hunting since September and all I have been seeing is stupid houses with ridiculous prices, no way I’m going to be paying millions of naira on bare minimum apartments.
Jesus Christ, one of my friends wey japa go UK for January him qualify of life don change, you don’t even need to tell me I can see it from his IG stories, I’m here shirtless while typing this stupid tweet blowing myself with my shirt cos heat wan kill me.
Today I’ll go to work and come back and meet no light still and think of buying fuel for another 900 naira per liter, do you know how insane that is, my dad already had me at this age and already building his own house.
Fuck Nigeria mehn, I’m not the type to crash out but I woke up thinking about the quality of life I’m living and it’s so fucking sad. Fuck all of you involved in this shit hole of a county, I fucking hate you all. Fuck APC too, Fuck me & Fuck U too cos we are way too scared to demand a better life for us and for our unborn kids.
I’m not asking for too much just the basic things dawg, the fucking basic things to live a comfortable life, why can’t my own country government give me that, do I have to Japa, how many people fit japa. We really gotta make things work mehn cos this country is damaged.
This man had 4 minutes to live. No one was in the room. He survived because he knew something 95% of the world doesn’t.
Choking kills over 365,000 people globally every year, according to the WHO.
95% of these choking episodes share one variable: the person was alone. Not because the obstruction was worse. Because no one was there to help, and the victim didn’t know how to help themselves.
Without oxygen, brain damage begins in as little as 4 to 6 minutes. Average ambulance response time globally? Eight minutes or more. In many countries, they don’t arrive at all. The math is unforgiving.
You either know what to do in the first 60 seconds, or you don’t survive long enough for help to arrive.
This man survived for one reason, he’s a medical worker. He knew the self-Heimlich exists. He knew to use the back of a chair to generate subdiaphragmatic thrust against his own epigastrium.
That’s not his instinct. It’s training.
Now think about who doesn’t have that training. Elderly people eating alone. Toddlers. Anyone living by themselves who has never been shown that a chair, a countertop, or even your own fist can substitute for another person’s hands.
The Heimlich maneuver was invented in 1974. Fifty years later, most people on Earth still don’t know it exists, let alone that you can perform it on yourself.
112K+ people watched this video. Almost none of them would have thought of actually learning the technique. They watched a man almost die and just felt relieved.
Here’s what the video should have taught you:
In case you’re alone and choking:
Step 1: Make a fist. Place the thumb side just below your rib cage, above your navel.
Step 2: Grasp it with your other hand. Thrust sharply inward and upward.
Step 3: If that doesn’t work, lean over any firm surface. A chair back. A countertop edge. A railing
Step 4: Drive your upper abdomen against it. Hard. Repeat until the airway clears.
That’s 15 seconds of knowledge. Don’t forget that. Save this post.
People only talk about the perks of living alone like coming back to meet things how you left them, having your privacy and space to yourself.
What people barely talk about is how depressing living alone can also be.
Sometimes, a wave of sadness and loneliness hits you and makes you feel unseen. Or is it how it makes you comfortable with your addictions because nobody stays with you to see what you do in your free time?
Another depressing thing about living alone is that, whenever you are broke, you will feel the heat. You can be in your house for days fighting for your life and nobody will know.
Or is it how emergencies can catch up with you? You can fall in your bathroom and lose your life because they is no one around to come to your aid.
Talk about the endless bills. With a flat mate, you can split electricity and other utility bills. But living alone? It is almost like you wake up everyday to work and spend all your money on your utility bills.
Let’s talk about food wastage. You cook and after a few days, you no longer want to eat the food and now everything is going to waste because you live alone.
The downside of living alone is more than the upside. It is proof that we are not even meant to do life alone at any point.
