This March we made the exciting announcement that @GoodwillAZ, along with @HonorHealth and @Cigna, are partnering with @BlueZones to transform #Scottsdale into a “Blue Zone” – locations that feature proven community elements that promote well-being, resilience and economic vitality.

On May 4, we officially kicked off the project during a special event. The plan and vision were outlined by speakers from each organization, Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega, and via panel discussion moderated by Blue Zones founder Dan Buettner.

For Goodwill, I am particularly proud of our involvement and how we can use our more than 75 years of experience in removing barriers to employment and education to help achieve our goal of making Scottsdale a model for other cities in #Arizona. This includes creating and sustaining communities with strong connections; spaces and foods that promote a healthy lifestyle; and supporting quality jobs and worksites.

This was the perfect way to kickoff this years-along program that will help make Arizona an even more vibrant and dynamic place to live and work.

Members of Thrive Services Group met with our #Arizona elected officials as part of our Thrive Day at the Capitol, sharing our innovative business model, which delivers both profit and purpose.

At Thrive, we envision a world free of poverty, homelessness and hunger, and we are committed to creating a future where all people can thrive. We will develop and fund education and housing programs through profits generated by our businesses that include Thrive Real Estate Group, Thrive Development Group, and Thrive Food Services Group, which recently launched @noble_ground.

I am grateful to the elected officials and their staff for taking time to speak with us to learn about Thrive Services Group and our mission to generate maximum revenue with the purpose of investing these dollars into life-changing social services.

I want to thank our #Arizona elected officials for meeting with me as part of our Day at the Capitol. @GoodwillAZ relies on both the generous donations from the community and strong private-public partnerships to help maximize the benefits of our programs and ensure every Arizonan has access to opportunities to uplift themselves through the power of work and education.

A prime example of this partnership is the @excelcenteraz, Arizona’s first adult charter high school for individuals without a high school diploma. This free service provides flexible class schedules, child care and transportation assistance, which greatly lowers barriers toward earning one’s diploma.

Thanks to the Arizona legislature for hosting this great event that brings the community together.

I have always been passionate about developing sustainable pathways so any Arizonan who wants to create a better life can through comprehensive community services and with the support of generous partners, including the @ArizonaCoyotes.

The future depends on smart and strategic community development, and I personally believe the Tempe Entertainment District represents a clear path that supports the city of Tempe while also hosting a permanent home for our professional NHL team. To me, the project is a huge step toward creating additional opportunities for all Arizonans to thrive and to strengthen the local economy.

I personally encourage anyone who is eligible to vote in the May 16 special election to review propositions 301, 302 and 303 and vote for these measures that will help strengthen the area, provide housing, and also create jobs with no burden on taxpayers.
