@rich_sherri@FredTilleyNS@NovaScotiaESM Unfortunately, until I brought it up, wasn’t even on the radar with Public Works senior management.
I will continue to advocate for it with the department.
Today is World Pharmacists Day. Thank you to the pharmacists across Nova Scotia who provide quality care and trusted advice every day. Your work makes a real difference in the lives of so many.
Military families sacrifice a lot while their loved ones serve our country. That often means missing birthdays, holidays, and special events. Today, on Military Family Appreciation Day, we recognize that sacrifice. Nova Scotia is home to many active and retired military members, and behind them, many families. I know it first-hand, watching my mom take care of us while my dad served for 35 years. To all the husbands, wives, parents, children, and loved ones of military service members: thank you for all you give.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Donald H. Oliver, KC, who served his community as a lawyer, educator and senator. A courageous trailblazer, the legacy of service, advocacy and leadership that he leaves behind is remarkable.
As the first Black man appointed to the Senate of Canada, he proudly represented Nova Scotia for over two decades with grace, wisdom and a relentless commitment to inclusion and justice. His work focused on championing issues of diversity, equity, human rights and economic empowerment.
Prior to his appointment to the Senate, he was a key figure in the creation of the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia in 1983. His work helped to ensure that it became a well-respected national institute.
Nova Scotia was lucky to have someone of Mr. Oliver’s caliber and integrity representing us on the national stage. My thoughts are with his family, friends and all who are touched by this loss.
Big congratulations to the Halifax Convention Centre for being named the World’s Greatest Convention Centre by Bloomberg’s World’s Greatest.
This recognition shows the strength of our people, our innovation, and the partnerships that make Nova Scotia a top destination for conferences and events.
Well done to the whole team for making Nova Scotia proud.
Our PC government is delivering real progress with Nova Scotia’s surgical waitlist. It now sits at a 10-year low, meaning faster care and better outcomes for patients across the province. ✅

Whether you’re trying to get to work, pick up your kids, or just get home at the end of a long day — sitting in traffic is time lost for you and your family.
That’s why the launch of Nova Scotia’s first-ever Regional Transportation Plan matters.
It’s a long-term plan to improve how we move — with smarter infrastructure, better transit, and stronger connections between our communities.
This is a step toward a more connected province and a growing economy that works for everyone.
I'm pleased to hear the Susies Lake wildfire has been fully extinguished.
Thank you to the exceptional first responders, firefighters, and volunteers whose hard work brought this fire under control.
Sandra and I enjoyed a couple of Teen Burgers this evening in support of A&W”s Burgers for MS Day!
Dad joke alert:
Q - What does A&W stand for?
A - Amburgers and Wootbeer!!
Dozer guards and hose lines are some of the many wildfire suppression methods used by DNR firefighters as they battle the Long Lake wildfires in Annapolis County.
Behind the scenes, the Nova Scotia Guard and local volunteers are keeping everyone well-fed. Thank you to the amazing fire crews for their hard work protecting Nova Scotians.
