After 17 years, tonight was my last meeting of @QbnPalerang Council.
Thank you to the many who have been a positive part of this journey.
I look forward to continuing to be actively involved in our region in other capacities.

“People want someone who’s a tough fighter, a straight shooter, a leader with a positive vision, and people kept telling me that I fit that bill,” says NICHOLE OVERALL, Nationals candidate for Monaro. https://t.co/QiYOX3XMFQ
Nerriga’s not a big place but as is often the case in rural areas, the local is more than just a pub - it’s the social hub of its community.
Sarah & Phil are the hard-working owners. If you haven’t been, do recommend, or it’s always great for a re-visit.
Here’s cheers to 2022!
Last night @NicholeOverall & I attended the launch of award-winning film “A Community Under Fire”, an amazing, moving documentation of the harrowing bushfires that impacted our region 2 years ago.
Well done to Matt Thane & all involved in this inspiring project.
@QbnPalerang
If elected as Mayor, Mareeta Grundy will be the 1st in Queanbeyan (& Palerang) history (1st woman on Qbn Council was 1949: Mrs Margaret Donoghoe).
I’m delighted Qbn is again leading the way, this time in the field of female representation.

I’ve had a few thinking I was going for Council on Sat but I’m actually running for Monaro in the upcoming NSW by-election.
It’s a big challenge but I’m keen to give it all I’ve got.
I’m also chuffed that Queanbeyan Champion & Canberra Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart is a supporter.
Yesterday we officially opened the Peter Bray Walk in honour of former @QbnPalerang Councillor, long-serving Deputy Mayor, Brigadier & my close friend who last year sadly passed away from cancer.
A most suitable, long-lasting tribute to a man devoted to his family & community.
My 90-year old Grandma (with me at my Grad Ball) is still out on her farm on the Murrumbidgee, Hay Plain - where she & my Pop, before he passed away, have been most of my life. A shout-out on National Ag Day to her & all farmers for the amazing, often unacknowledged work they do!
An honour to participate in @QbnPalerang Years of Service awards. Congratulations to all recipients.
I was also pleased to be presented with an award for 17yrs of service to Local Govt & community & I thank Council’s many dedicated staff for their generous words & well wishes.
Last time on @BraidwoodFM for “monthly update from the mayor”, happening since 2017.
It’s been a great opportunity to provide info to the community and I thank all at the station and everyone today for their well wishes for my (& @NicholeOverall’s) future.
