India has cleared its first-ever dengue vaccine.

Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved Takeda's QDENGA, making it the country's first authorised vaccine for dengue prevention.

Key details:
• Approved for individuals aged 4–60 years
• Protects against all four dengue virus serotypes
• Can be given regardless of prior dengue infection, eliminating the need for pre-vaccination screening
• Administered as two doses, three months apart

The approval is backed by Takeda's global clinical programme involving over 28,000 participants. Clinical data showed:
✅ 80.2% efficacy against confirmed dengue one year after the second dose
✅ 90.4% efficacy against dengue-related hospitalisation after 18 months

QDENGA is already approved in 43 countries and has been distributed in more than 32 million doses globally. Experts say the vaccine could significantly reduce severe disease and hospitalisations, although mosquito control and public health measures will remain essential to curb outbreaks.

The approval marks a major milestone in India's fight against a disease that affects hundreds of thousands of people every year.

The Delhi High Court sought a comprehensive record of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s medical condition while hearing an appeal filed by his wife, Dr Gitanjali Angmo, challenging a Single Judge’s refusal to allow his discharge from Safdarjung Hospital and transfer to Medanta Hospital.

The Division Bench directed the authorities to place on record all pathological reports prepared by Safdarjung Hospital, AIIMS and the private laboratory, along with all health bulletins issued in respect of Wangchuk’s condition. It also asked the appellant to file reports of tests conducted through the private laboratory.

The Court further directed that the doctor heading the medical team treating Wangchuk at Safdarjung Hospital, along with AIIMS Director and Dr Akshay, In-charge of Emergency Medicine at AIIMS, remain present before it on Tuesday. It also requested the doctor engaged by Wangchuk’s family to appear to assist the Court.

The five new bills that the government is likely to take up during the Eighth Session of Eighteenth Lok Sabha:

1. The Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026. (To replace an Ordinance)
2. The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026 (To replace an Ordinance)
3. The Registrationof Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026
4. The Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026
5. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026

Additionally, the government will take up two prior bills:

1. The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was introduced in Lok Sabha on 25 March, 2026
2. The Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, which was introduced in Lok Sabha on 15 December, 2025 and referred to a Joint Committee.

Bangalore ITAT has extended the stay on Xiaomi Technology India's outstanding tax demand of ₹10,833.22 crore for a further 180 days or until disposal of the appeal, whichever is earlier.

ITAT noted that fixed deposits of ₹3,700 crore (about ₹4,157 crore with accrued interest) remain attached by the Revenue, providing substantial security.
