Morning from a cloudy London! Reflecting on government yesterday pledging to ramp up training on dementia for those in ASC - a crucial step, driven by our call to enable appropriate support at home for people living with dementia and their carers. Not a bad hotel view either!
Only 29% of adult social care staff have dementia training. That is not good enough. Thank you @Jenny4SuffCoast for raising dementia in the Commons today, we warmly welcome Minister @SKinnock reply, committing to ramping up dementia training for the adult social care workforce.
Dementia is the UK’s forgotten crisis, happening behind closed doors up and down the country.
We’re opening those doors and bringing the reality of dementia into the light.
If we all speak up, they’ll have to listen.
