1/2 @cadentgashelp @essexhighways @UttlesfordDC this road closure is causing mayhem. Signage was incorrect, no-one has been informed that this section would be closed and the diversion is not fit for purpose. I have spoken to Essex Highways and Cadent this morning.

@Headteacherchat School I know of does this as a matter of course. Trouble is they also often appoint even though no post is available which causes problems further down the line.

@secretHT1 Controversial point of view but maybe turnout was low because some union members don't view striking as an appropriate option. The overwhelming view at my school is that none of this is the children's fault so why should they suffer?

@DeputyGrocott Our PGCE student quit in October. He couldn't get his head around the workload. This was someone who left a lucrative job within the NHS for something where he could give something back. Shame.

@_MrLevick Did cover for a couple of years at my own school, sometimes planned, sometimes emergency. I much preferred it when staff gave me a detailed plan. My favourite one was coming in one afternoon to find the words "teach about rivers" on the cover notes! 🤦

@ballater6 Absolutely. School I used to work at hadn't been seen for 9 years by the time I left, many staff including some SLT had never been through an inspection. Worst part though was School Improvement Partner telling us how it should be when his own school hadn't been seen since 2009!

@NewbieSlt I used to work with someone who knocked off straight after the children because they had to go to work. No problem with that but the way they described it made it seem as if teaching wasn't work.
