I love Michigan and am so proud to have put up my hand to serve. I spoke with Abdul a few moments ago to offer him my full support as we work to defeat Mike Rogers this November.
Thank you, Michigan. https://t.co/xVnIAFBqLl
I’ve repeatedly said that I will support our Democratic nominee because the most important election is in November. The stakes could not be higher, and that’s why I’m endorsing Abdul to be Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.
Congratulations to @AbdulElSayed for winning the Democratic nomination for Senate. It’s been a long primary, but now it’s time to gear up to beat Mike Rogers (again) and win up and down the ticket.
There is nothing more important than the mission of the next 90 days: uniting, keeping this seat blue, flipping the House and Senate, and providing a real check on President Trump.
Money out of politics.
Money in your pocket.
Medicare for All.
Michigan...
We won. I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let's win in November.
Three observations on what Michigan voters electing Abdul El-Sayed means for the Democratic Party:
1) They are tired of politicians who promise more of the same
2) They want someone beholden to them, not moneyed interests
3) They REALLY hate being flooded by outside dark money
Abdul will make an incredible Senator for Michigan. And the choice come November could not be more clear.
Abdul: A doctor fighting for health care for all and against the corruption of money in politics
Mike Rogers: Just another Trump rubber stamp
Final NYT numbers on Haley Stevens v. Abdul El-Sayed:
— Six outside groups spent $62 million for Stevens, giving her a nine-to-one spending advantage over Abdul
— Half of that Stevens spend, $32 million, came from AIPAC's super PAC
— AIPAC's super PAC spent more than any single group has in a federal Democratic primary this cycle
It's ridiculous that someone could steal over $1 million from Medicaid and not face prison time. My fraud-fighting bill and work with the judiciary changed that. https://t.co/5YkZJZ4F9e
On August 11, Minnesotans have the opportunity to say no to the status quo in Washington that’s working for billionaires and corporations.
