President Mahama commends French President Emmanuel Macron on his announcement this week to work with Ghana to establish a Ghana-French Scientific Commission on slavery in Ghana; also for his pledge to abolish slavery laws known as Code Noir; his new policy on the return of looted artefacts; and his impressive commitment to an open and honest dialogue on Reparatory Justice.
The Government of Ghana additionally applauds President Macron for accepting President Mahama’s invitation to speak at the Next Steps Summit on Reparatory Justice in Accra from June 17-19, 2026.
It’s great to see the concrete results of the historic adoption of the Ghana-led UN resolution declaring the transatlantic enslavement of Africans as the gravest crime against humanity.
For God, Country and Africa. 🇬🇭 🙏🏾
President John Mahama has today announced that the Government of Ghana has decided to introduce a free visa regime for all Africans who wish to visit Ghana.
The new policy takes effect on May 25, a day which is commemorated as Africa Day.
President Mahama made the declaration during the inaugural State Visit of President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe to Ghana.
Ghana seeks to consolidate its credentials as the cradle of Pan-Africanism even as it expects a major boost in tourism and intra-African trade by this groundbreaking reform.
The Free Visa for Africans would be a component of a new e-Visa policy the Mahama Administration is launching next month.
President Mahama also assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue with its intentional and determined effort at securing more Visa Waiver Agreements for Ghanaian passport holders. Since last year, 23 Visa Waiver Agreements have been negotiated for Ghanaians.
For God, Country and Continent.
@S_OkudzetoAblak I repeat! Okudzeto Ablakwa has done more in 1 week as the minister of foreign affairs than Nana akuffo addo did in 4yrs as the minister of the same ministry from 2003-07 😭
From the 1pm scheduled time on 30th January to the chaos and now the cooking 😂. It is now FINISHED.
1st pain goes to the disgraced minority.
And 2nd pain goes to the internal hypocrites who sided with the minority.
The YOUTH WILL REMEMBER EVERYONE GOING INTO 2028.
I am enormously thankful to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for nominating me to serve as Ghanas Foreign Minister.
My solemn pledge is to diligently assist President Mahama in championing Ghana’s best interest at all times, with unquestionable patriotism, innovation and integrity.
Immense gratitude to my family, North Tongu, NDC, and all amazing Ghanaians for the incredible support throughout the years.
I won’t let you down.
Let’s do it, for God and Country.
@S_OkudzetoAblak Merry Christmas 🎄 boss, May the good lord continue to bless you. And please watch what and where you din and wine this Xmas 🎄. There are enemies from both within and without. You must live, be healthy to change the story of the black man. Ghana first !
I cut the sod for the construction of a 500-seater modern sports facility for the youth and people of my home constituency, Bole-Bamboi, and its surrounding communities on Sunday.
Facilitated by my younger brother, the Member of Parliament for Bole, Alhaji Yusif Suleman, the facility will contain a football pitch with changing rooms, volleyball and tennis courts and a swimming pool.
When completed, this will surely be an excellent opportunity to provide the youth with an avenue to develop their sporting skills and talents, keep them healthy, and create entertainment opportunities through the various games and activities in the complex. The construction work will also create job opportunities for the town’s skilled and unskilled youth.
As a social democratic party, the NDC is immutable in its commitment to inclusive growth through investments in health, education, and sports. Our sports development programmes will focus on talent development and feed our human development agenda.

@S_OkudzetoAblak Good to read this. But officials who are involved in selling state lands should be surcharged to refund the money of the cost of the land to the buyer, who in turn must pay 50% of that refund to gov't. This way, such officers will stop such unpatriotic behaviours.
Another impressive intervention from the Local Government Minister, this time to stop the looting of our Parks and Gardens land in the Upper West regional capital, following my parliamentary oversight.
We shall be maintaining strict parliamentary vigilance to ensure that the Wa fuel station project is indeed halted and eventually demolished.
We need our green spaces preserved for our collective human survival.
When we rise and demand action as patriots, regardless of partisan considerations, we are capable of defeating the greedy, destructive and marauding forces of ‘lootocratic’ darkness.
All those conspiring to entrench their devious State Capture agenda should realize at this point that they would have no peace from the Ghanaian people to enjoy their loot.
State Capture shall surely be defeated!
For God and Country.
