@h9asrl2 This is probably the best explanation there is for Ishchun's uptie story, because really, he didn't actually... achieve anything in it otherwise 😅
@OROLOGICREMSI@Solomance_dev Admittedly, in her own dialogue she does specifically state that she alone is the last bastion of the Blade Lineage and that, eventually, she will leave the LCD. If anything, she's the one who decided Kim was unworthy of being a member of the Blade Lineage...
@seacrosserwngu It's simply because there is a lot of different aspects to discuss when it comes to both Rien and the other nursefathers. Rien is a very layered character, so perhaps not everyone thought of Hermes' role at first. I find the discussion of it very fun, though.
@seacrosserwngu (..Which was something he knew Ryoushuu didn't want, so it was a decision made for himself, even if out of a twisted love.)
Not when his family was being killed, or when he was told to manipulate Sora. It creates an interesting, yet sad contrast in the way he acts.
@seacrosserwngu It is very much true that it is, to some level, a form of learned helplessness. But it is also interesting that both of the times he actually attempted to or did defy them were self-serving (When he was being turned into Roland, and when he wanted Ryoushuu to stay...)
@Umaru_owo@Marciszek___ This exact same struggle is done better by Blade Lineage Sinclair that instead of randomnly splitting his personality into 2 with a stereotype, they talk about how his upbringing clashes with his desires and he has to grapple with that directly
@Umaru_owo@Marciszek___ That kind of gets rid of the internal turmoil of both parts coexisting, but even if you do double personality, they make one personality randomnly dumber than high-school sinc and the other into the harmful stereotype of the "evil second personality murderhobo" which is baffling
@Umaru_owo@Marciszek___ Cinq Sinclair just... reads like a caricature. If you don't mind that caricature writing, or think he's hot, then that's usually why they like it... but it's pretty counter to both his roots and his struggle as it separates the 'two worlds' and dumbs him down a lot
@Umaru_owo@Marciszek___ I wouldn't say he's my least favorite... like, it's just an incredibly safe choice. At least it isn't like.. actively against his character like Cinq Sinclair. but like you said, he's mostly cool just cuz of Philip.
