And this is our group photo with representatives from antimatter physics, quantum computation, (cold) physical chemistry, quantum simulation, multipole traps, hybrid systems, precision measurements, quantum sensing, and many more fun ion trapping applications in general.

U04.00002 Progress towards dipole-phonon quantum logic with trapped CaO+ and Ca+ ion
U04.00006 Co-trapping K, Ca+, and CaH+: Ion-atom-molecule interaction measurements
Electrically-driven non-Gaussian operations for trapped-ion CVQC, Using 'protected' modes in trapped ions to enable mid-algorithm measurements for CVQC, and Spontaneous scattering errors from Raman transitions in metastable trapped-ion qubits.
A near-optimum system for entangled photon collection and absorption in a single trapped ion is experimentally achieved: High-efficiency is further demonstrated by the generation of multi-photon states with up to 15 photons. @iqoqi

99.94% two qubit fidelity (prepping a bell state in 35us) woth #TrappedIons from @GeorgiaTech
They used laser based gate and also an 8.5K ion trap. Interstingly, it looks like they could have gone warmer and still have had "similar" fidelities🧐.

A Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) has been integrated into an #iontrap operation at room temperature by @SandiaLabs.
The close proximity of detectors allows for more photons to be collected giving high detection fidelties.

New paper on heating effects in #iontraps@uniinnsbruck https://t.co/iT9uUM1IaC We had a detailed look into how an ion crystal can melt from a collision with background gas, and how to re-crystallize. We found a surprisingly simple model that is validated by the experiment.
Thanks to the organisers of today's ARTIQ workshop! It was interesting to hear about its features, the community, and the ways different experiments are using it. Now I have a very long list of things to learn more about!

Great to see #trappedion hardware from @IonQ_Inc running with @qiskit. The qiskit team have put tremendous effort for industry adoption with wonderful tutorials and examples.
Curious where to start using IonQ hardware on #AzureQuantum? Our friends at @MSFTQuantum have put together a wonderful quickstart that can help anyone in the public preview run their first quantum job on our systems in around 15 minutes.
