There is now consensus among educators, parents and politicians that Govt needs a Plan B for next year’s exams. A short delay isn’t enough to ensure fairness for students.

"Teachers are being asked by students what's happening about exams next year and they can't tell them ...": so what will happen in summer 2021? Analysis by @seanjcoughlan@bbceducation, including my comments on behalf of @ASCL_UK https://t.co/gcWGx9xF8D
Reading the new school rules. Speechless. We were told directly by @educationgovuk that these would be "minor tweaks" only yet here we are: a full blown rota system. How is this putting children and education first? This is rule by Unions not Government. Pathetic @BorisJohnson
Infuriatingly late guidance on precisely the logistical issues @ASCL_UK and others have been raising for weeks: @guardian "Secondary schools in England could use attendance 'rota system'" https://t.co/2Jrx2ng7Ed
Only 3 hours to go until the start of the FREE Ednorth Back to School TeachMeet. Still plenty of time to register and watch the 5 great sessions designed to help your start off the year with a bang, including 'Motivation and Engagement' from @RosannaHume

Sir Ken Robinson - such sad news!
In honour of the man here’s the amazing animated video accompanying one of his great speeches https://t.co/8qgJFKhWfw
Since summer is the busiest time for teachers ordering #5MinPlan lesson planners & resources it’s also the time of year that dad & I chose to drop the prices 👍
Everyone can be September ready for less 👍

Listening to September school structure ideas/plans yesterday in meeting ...
Continue to be impressed by my Headteacher & team deal with all this! #SLTchat#edchat
Might save you a job, subject or pastoral possibly useful to set the 🎲 rolling once back to school to map experiences & check starting points. Thanks to @OTeaching @87History for inspo. Can be adapted for any subject, this has a History slant. 🤗
Come and join Ednorth and a host of great speakers at our Free Recovery Curriculum TeachMeet on July 15th. (6-7pm)

@DoleHayley I'm not an HOD but my fabulous HOD started a few years ago and got things spot on. She listens to us, gives us a voice + has made any changes gradually. She's the HOD I'd want to be if I hadn't gone down the pastoral route instead.
@English_MrsD @DoleHayley What you say about making gradual changes is spot on! There may be a temptation to move and change quickly but you are leading people and often changing things too quickly can cause issues with staff which long term frustrate your plans 👍
@stephwelsford @MissAHunter_ Love this one! In early days teachers can often feel like well established TAs might be comparing them to predecessors...never actually been the case in my experience 👍
